Dutch,

So glad you found time to check in and let us know whats up with you! The end of the school year is always a busy time. How neat that you get to speak at Baccalaureate. That shows how very special you are to your students! About school funding.....don't even get me started....makes my blood boil! Tennessee is going backwards instead of forwards I think and losing all kinds of good teachers to the states around us because salaries and other funding is better elsewhere. Obviously its not great in ANY part of the country though! Mindy wants to know what you will do with yourself after you retire......I have a suggestion....RELAX??? LOL!

Hugs,

Sooze

So nice to see you Dutch. It is so sad about all the financial problems our states are having. I wonder if they always cut education first cause they know that annoys us the most? And why is it always teachers jobs they cut instead of admin?

Hope you are finding some time to relax this weekend. So great to be asked to speak at the Baccalaureate. You rock!! Hugs

Congrats on the speaking engagement, Barb! What an honor! Boy you have a busy summer lined up! No rest for the weary!

There are some school sin Oregon already closed this last wk due to budget cuts. This is way early. Something's gotta give someday, but what?

Take care,

Red

So good to see you, Dutch. You have so much going on. Will you have any time this summer to relax?

The school situation is so bad. They ran out of paper in my dd's highschool the year she was a sophomore...about 3 months before the end of the term. And every year the budget has gotten worse. I don't know what they're going to do. It's a really sad state of affairs. At the clinic where I work there is a fair amount of excess paper used. For instance, the printer from an outside lab always shoots out at least one blank sheet every time it prints a report and usually two. I used to collect all the paper I could find that didn't have patient info on it and was able to send a pretty big box of paper to the school that they could use for some of their xeroxing. Maybe there are places there that could start saving paper like that in case you run into the same situation next year.

Take care of yourself. Don't burn out.
