Now, I know that doesn't sound that hot to some of you, but here it is SCORCHING! And the section of the clinic I work in isn't air conditioned. Between the heat and hot flashes I was not a happy person yesterday. Today it is back in the 50's. Just seems to go one way or the other. When we have two days of hot weather like that, we usually joke that "there went our summer" since that generally only happens once a year. I hope not...hate to have summer over with so soon!

I am going to have some trees taken down or cut back in my yard. It's going to change things a lot and I'm not sure I'm going to like the changes. But it's better, I suppose, than having them fall on my house or my neighbor's which has been a concern of mine for a while. I hate getting rid of trees...especially since these aren't ones that shade my yard so badly and that I WOULD like to shorten. Unfortunately, those trees aren't on my property. Oh well, could be worse. At least the moss that grows in the shaded grass is green too.

I splurged and bought a vining hydrangea. Anyone have any experience with one of those. I'm excited about it.

dont like those hot temps either kat.were having unseasonably cool weather here and i love it.the nites are 48-50 and it can stay that way thru summer.i dont mind.i hate getting rid of trees too.they are a beautiful plant producing oxygen and adding their splendor to the land.mu crab tree in the front yard seems to have the apple blight, most likely it will have to come down but i will be in no hurry to get rid of it.((hugs))Mindy

Kat--A vining hydrangea? Sounds gorgeous! Our warm temps have departed! We are now into the lower 60s for highs! ACK! I heard our mountains got snow again! Glad I wasn't driving in them! I'm also watching the weather for my plants! Good thing I put out all pots so I can move them in if I have to. Enjoy your new hydrangea and be careful with those trees! That's a big job! Enjoy your weekend! Kathie

I can bear with the heat if the nights cool off...well, to a point anyway.

My trees are pines and although they still have some life in them yet, the do tend to get straggly, leave a lot of needles on the roof and provide a lot of shade that I really don't need. But my biggest concern is that two of them are right at the top of the hill that separates me from my neighbor (they are below me). I worry when we have an exceptionally wet and rainy winter that the ground will soften up and that one of those big storms that comes through periodically will uproot them and send them right over. But it will seem strange not to have them there.

Ours went from 90 yesterday to 51 today. If it keeps bouncing like that, we're going to have a whole rash of sick people coming through the clinic. Ejoy that cooler week-end.

Cooling off now Kat? We have been there (in the 90s) all week, too. The valley has been in the 100s...too early for all this heat. This weekend supposed to be cooler. Have a good one. Hugs

Oh Kat, I know how you feel about those trees. We had 3 large trees removed about a year ago. I'm still missing them. 2 were very close to the house and dh was afraid that a big storm would bring them down on us. I'm not sure why he had the third one down, but it looks like it was a good idea after it was done (alot of rot inside). Still have one more that needs to come down, but we'll wait til the ground is frozen again. You're vining hydrangea sounds lovely, enjoy! Now I would probably forget to water it and kill it. And hey, I don't mind 90's if it's not humid, so send some warmth my way. We are having a very rainy weekend. Charlie
