though. Akiva is not on the ventilator any longer she is now on a bubble CPAP

which means she does not have tubes down into her lungs to help her breathe but in her nose only now. FOr a while there she wasn't breathing at all they had to bag her, now that I am assuming means keep pushing air in with a bag. They have moved her Iv from her head to her foot to her arm as the foot got all swollen up, guess the infection will do that. We still do not have the results from the Lumbar puncture, suppose to hear about that today now.

The kids are as you can well imagine all stressed out, they said their beautiful baby has a patchy head where they shaved her and she is so swollen up and so listless because they have her sedated. When I talk to them they try to sound so upbeat but they really sound scared and stressed. Alan I think is finding that he is on overload and seems to not be able to understand anything they say anymore, he said it is all sounding like a foreign language, but Nikki she is the one who is asking a zillion questions and then going and studying what it all means. It is so hard to hear them both trying to sound so positive,

and stuff when I know darn well they are shaking in their boots.

I so wish that things would hurry and turn around for her, but the doctors did say that it takes only a short time to become septic but a lot longer to recover.

I guess when I look back over the days though there have been big steps like from not breathing at all to getting only the help of the CPAP, and from no feeds to small ones starting last night. Yep things will come back to where we can relax a bit, but in their own time.

Now how does that saying go good things come to those that wait.. yea I will take that!

Ok now I am going to go outside and soak up some of that sun before it gets too hot. This is the third or fouth day of sunshine and I have tried to enjopy a little of it each day. Yesterday I even cut the lawn, but it took me a good part of the day to get myself motivated to do it. We have been having temps of around 90F, so it feels super hot to me.

Well will go now and mess about! Will keep you posted as I hear.

Hugs, Lor

Many prayers and hugs for all in your family Lori. Akiva is struggling but hanging in there. She is in our hearts always.
