A little of this and that

As RJ said, it's been raining off and on for a couple of days here. Can't do much outside, but my new rose bushes are looking lovely, can't wait to get some flowers. Everything is so green, and my wild flowers are starting to bloom. Not sure if I'll make chat tonight. Dil and dgd came into town last night (from CA), they stayed with her sister (dil's nephew's graduation today), but they'll be staying with us tonight. Then I take dil to the airport at 7:00 am and dgd will be spending a month with us. Ds is so excited, but he won't see her til tomorrow afternoon, went away for the weekend with the boy scouts.

Ds will be graduating from 8th grade on Monday. One of those bittersweet moments. I'm excited to see him going to a new school, but I can feel the tears already since he's been at this school since kindergarten. What a change for all of us. Our summer is going to be so busy, I feel like it's over before it's even begun. Anyone else feel that way? OH well, I'll just have to enjoy it as it comes. Charlie

I know what you mean, Free. Seems like I'm constantly telling him to "grow up", and one of these days, I'm going to say, where did the time go, "when did you grow up"? lol. Charlie

LOL, Rain, I hope I'm still thinking that way in a month. She's 13 yo and I may run into some pms along the way. She not as moody as her sister though, so I think it will be find. Charlie

Actually RJ, sometimes I wonder if he's 3 or 15? Seems like one day he's acting like a 3 yo if you know what I mean. Guess it's all part of growing up. I think with dgd here, he'll "act his age". I'm looking forward to this summer, but not next September, lol. Charlie

Yes, I think it's special. I think there are quite a few at his school, but now with HS starting, they are going to a number of different schools. Some on to other Catholic schools and some to different public HS. It will be a big change for all of them.

And the sun is shining, *smile*

Time does seem to pass awfully fast these days, Charlie...except, of course, while I'm at work. But it seems as though I'm constantly saying: It's June already?!! or whatever. Youre' right...you've really got to make a point of enjoying every day. Take care.

Congrats to ds on graduating 8th grade. What fun to have your dgd for a month. How old is she? I keep hinting that my oldest dgs (he will be 13 this year!) should come to granma's for some time this summer but so far that isn't happening!

Yes, this summer is full of events. I would love to come to the mid-west meet (in Sept, right?) but won't be able to. Just too much other stuff happening plus money seems to be flying out of our bank account unusually fast! Oh well, that's what it's for, right? Anyway, I still have a trip to CO to plan for the birth of dgc #8 in Aug. Plus dh & I will take one or two long weekends just to get away somewhere together. After that I have to slow down and rebuild some savings.

Have a good week Charlie. Hugs

Charlie...I have one to go to h.s. next year too. It's hard on us when our babies grow up! They don't have an 8th graduation here but they do a power-point presentation of what they've done in middle school and what they want to do in h.s. for their parents, some teachers and maybe some select family friends. Tears and hugs there too.

Sounds like dgd has a busy schedule for her visit--that's good at her age since a bored 13yo is a whiny obnoxious one! We do some visiting as well with dd20 and sil--where dd14 wants to spend some time too. She wants to see her friends in that town as well as take care of her very preggers sister while dsil is out of town working!

Enjoy the summer! They do change alot in this time before h.s. and I hope he loves his new school! My dd is looking forward since she knows alot of the kids that go there;her dad also works there...in a small town we bump into the same people everywhere. LOL

Hugs, Kathie
