primal scream???? I've spent the day going through papers, and on the phone with both my gyn's office and my insurance co. Seems a procedure that was done back in June of 2001 still hasn't been paid! There have been major screws-ups on the part of both of them, and I'm caught in the middle! I hate this! I'm overdue for my pap, but don't want to get one until this is resolved - I'm too embarrassed! I know, that's silly, but that's how I feel. Oh, well, life goes on.

Thinking of you all, and keeping you in my thoughts, even though I don't get here as often as I want.

Jan

PS - Mary(grams), I searched, but haven't found any bodies yet to account for the dust. However there is still a stack of junk in the basement.....maybe behind that I'll find a skeleton, hand outstreached and pointing in the general direction of the stairs? Maybe it's time to ask the "dreaded cousins" to visit again! LOL

Sure, Jan, I'll join in! I HATE dealing with the insurance company! They always end up paying, but they make life so miserable in the meantime! Grrrrr!!

Hang in there, kiddo, and practice your negotiating skills. It will get worse when we get to Medicare! LOL!!!

Hugs, Pam

Boy, Jan, Janet (Ms Lily) had the exact thing happen. And in spite of the fact that she has paperwork and confirmations up the wazoo (sp?), they're still battling it out. Waht is so complicated about that stuff? I hope it gets cleared up for you soon. What a pain.

RJ, I'll let the cousins know - I think they could use a vacation. For them, a vacation is stuffed cabinets and drawers to sort through, stacks of paper to deal with, bulging closets.....they're strange!

It seems so many are/have had problems with insurance companies. Today, dh took over the negotiating, since he's better at it than I am. As it stands now, it's back to the ins. co. to appeal, but we won't know for 35-45 days. Seems the dr's office didn't follow through like they should have. I don't think I'll be going back there. If that's how the office runs, what other things have they screwed up (test results, etc.)?

Yep, Gabby, they can be pains, especially when they pull things out of the closet and say "when was the last time you wore this?" and make you put it in a donation box. They can do a lot with overstuffed file cabinets, too! They can be merciless! They help clean, plus they sort, arrange, organize and put things where they belong. HA! They kept saying I should clear out my medical file, but it sure has come in handy with this insurance problem! If I had cleared it out, I wouldn't have the paperwork to back up my side of it! Guess the last laugh is on them. Neener, neener, neener!

Thanks, Rain. With what the ins. co., and the dr's office said today, it seems the dr's office didn't follow through. If the ins. doesn't pay, they said the dr. HAS to write it off, as per their contract! This could get interesting!

It seems in this case, the dr's office didn't follow through like they should have. Today they said that since I hadn't been back in a year, they couldn't follow through then and see it hadn't been paid. That's how they did it, wait for a patient to return before noticing they hadn't been paid! Strange way to run an office, if you ask me! She said they didn't have the personnel to check to see what had been paid! There are computer programs that do that, but they didn't use one, and are now trying to get me to pay it. Stupid! The ins. co. already sent them a letter "reminding" them that they are in violation of their contract for billing me, so we shall see!
