I haven't anything interesting to talk about, think about or lie about. Samo, samo Spring/Summer. Lots of gardening and outdoor work, lots of company, lots of RETIRED MAN AROUND THE HOUSE, and little time to be on the computer. But, wanted to stop by and tell you all "Hiddy Ho". Miss visiting with all of you. Still really dislike this format, but I guess I'll have to forgive iVillage in order to keep up with friendships. I know, I know...some friendships I'd maintain better if I'd just answer my e-mail! I promise, to those of you wondering if I'm ever going to get to it, I'm really, really trying to get my e-mail list in order and get on top of it. Firm embrace to all! Kay

Ah, busy, busy Kay. We've had alot of rain here, so hard to get out in the garden much, but I did drag ds out there yesterday to hoe up some of the weeds. Seems they grow better than anything around here. Glad to see you stop in and say hi, try to make it more often. (((hugs))) charlie

Ah, that wonderful rain! I was so far behind on my gardening this year because of the rain. Now that I'm done, it's raining every afternoon which is great for my plants, but on the downside....the weeds are growing like crazy! So, by the time I finish weeding everything, I have to start all over again. I think I'm having dreams about it! My hoe is getting a workout all night long! You're lucky to have your son there to help with that nasty little job. Wanna share him? Bob is willing to help, but he's like a bull in a china shop. He can't seem to help placing his big feet on flowers and can't to tell the difference between a weed and a plant if there isn't a flower to guide him. I think we came to an agreement that the lawn is his domain and gardens are mine! Hugs! Kay

Are things coming back okay, Kay, after being so battered down by the hail last year? We are having a great season here. For the first time in memory I have rose bushes with multiple blooms on them. Usually I get one handsome rose per bush at a time. It dies down, then another comes along. I'd liek to think it's a result of my horticultural skills but I know it's just an odd weather pattern. I just got a catalog from Park's Countryside Gardens with a new Japanese fern called Burgundy Lace...fern leaves start out a deep purple, then become rosy silver. It's beautiful...but very spendy. Maybe next year!

What a memory you have Kat! I didn't even remember we were pounded with hail last year till you mentioned it. Yep, things all came back. I bought 6 new rose bushes this year and they, along with my established ones are just going nuts this year! Like you I know rationally I can't take credit for the zillion buds sitting on. Just a strange spring. But, my peony bushes that are normally loaded right now have hardly any buds. Love the sound of this Japense fern you mentioned. I'll have to look it up. May not even be able to raise it in this part of the country. I'll have to e-mail you one bush that I planted this spring that has the most phenomenal roses! I like to just sit and stare at it. Don't you just love Spring?

Hi Kay. I've been working out in the flowers too. Today I finished digging up an area and added a couple wagon loads of soil. Now I have to transplant some black eyed susans over there. Then I started to work on the other area that I'm trying to make into a periennel bed. There's still quite a bit or work to do there. Tomorrow I have to get at mowing the lawn.

Kay, internet life always slows down in the summer. Gardening, BBQ's, graduations, weddings and such. Yup, thats my excuse. LOL

Hugs,

Rain

Ah that was not that boring, it let us know that you were not hidden under the cob webs or something and unable to get back on the computer. Now the blame is to go to the weather, your dh and all your company... but then how could we blame all that good stuff.

Well guess we will just have to get what we can when you are able to post! Good to see you Kay!

Hugs, Lor

At least Mr. R.M. is working on the house doing some longstanding projects, so I can't complain too much. And it keeps his footprints out of my gardens. LOL!
