I haven't anything interesting to talk about, think about or lie about. Samo, samo Spring/Summer. Lots of gardening and outdoor work, lots of company, lots of RETIRED MAN AROUND THE HOUSE, and little time to be on the computer. But, wanted to stop by and tell you all "Hiddy Ho". Miss visiting with all of you. Still really dislike this format, but I guess I'll have to forgive iVillage in order to keep up with friendships. I know, I know...some friendships I'd maintain better if I'd just answer my e-mail! I promise, to those of you wondering if I'm ever going to get to it, I'm really, really trying to get my e-mail list in order and get on top of it. Firm embrace to all! Kay

I just planted several black-eyed susans. Haven't had them in years. Hard to find around here for some reason. Sounds like your projects rather run in line with mine Kaci. I worked in a lot of new top soil in with some of my old beds this year. That gets to be an awful lot like hard work! Enjoy your gardening!

They're all respectable excuses Rain. I'd stick to all of them if I were you! I'm bagging every excuse I can find to carry me till Fall.

Did I forget to mention the cobwebs and how they're slowed down my 'puter life? That's about the only excuse I DIDN'T come up with! Haven't kept up for awhile....how is that new grand-daughter of yours doing? That's one little girl that's had a lot of long-distance support from lots of surrogate grandma's!

Well Isabella, sounds as though you're willing to release the reins of some of the things you've done in the past. I've done that to....hard to do, isn't it? I've also had lessons in some of the things I've apparently been doing wrong for a coon's age. Amazing we lasted so long, isn't it? LOL! Men and their need to be the experts. Bah! Good luck in learning to use that hose correctly!

Kay--

Just a hi and a hig to let you know I'm glad to see you stopped in here! Same ole, same ole here too....isn't that called life? LOL Any way we do small gardening in pots since this new rented house doesn't have flower beds...but dh, Don boy, is getting the lawn in shape so he's a happy camper! Hopefully, he'll have no more visits from the water police!

We're on evey other day watering and he just turned the hose off when the nice mr. policeman stopped him. I told him NO FINES for water!

Enjoy your summer and let that Mr. Retired Man rest too! LOL If he's like mine, he rests well.

Hugs, Kathie

Hi Kay, Great to see ya back! Been doin' a whole lot of nothin' here too.

Got gardening done at least the first round, working on a new front door project(dh is), wrapping packages for ds in Iraq...That's the pits! Trying to keep track of that new grandbaby! She's adorable!

Don't be such a stranger!

Hugs

RJ

Howdy stranger! Mr RM lets you use the computer at least occassionally, hmm? So many of my friends are having this very same RM dilemma. So I think letting dh build that huge garage with a fully equipped wood shop may be a very good idea indeed. He likes to putter and this will keep him out of my hair! In fact, I think I'll go hire a contractor next week and get started! LOL!

Yes, the summer-slow-down is upon us. Things to do and places to go. People visiting and of course the wonderful world of our gardens to tend to. Miss ya FB. Many hugs, Cappy

Yesterday when I stopped at Sam's, I found these chocked full hanging baskets of a purply red dianthus for $3 a pop. (Enough flowers that would have cost at least $12 at Home Depot) Couldn't beat that with a stick so I bought the last 2 they had. Think it was my "Dirty Old Lady" gardening shirt that I had on that got the cashier to break out in a silly grin? Didn't notice that was what I was wearing til dh pointed it out when I got back and was trying to get them into the planter before the clouds burst. lol (It's my $3 Hawaiian red dirt souvenior shirt-Dh bought one with the islands on it for $17.)I was just noticing while driving yesterday that our neighborhood just smells great. Need to find out what all I was smelling but I did recognize some old roses with a great scent. Think I could bottle the scent as Springs #19? lol Hugs, BB
