Can you help please?

I am 47 year's old and for a few year's have been experiencing PMS/Perimenopause symptoms.

I recently tried natural Progesterone cream and it seemed to work great! After 2 months I started to have side effects, such as breast tenderness and weight gain. I was told I had been taking more than I probably needed. Even though I was only using the amount I was told to use and so I reduced the amount for a while but the symptoms did not cease. As of now I have stopped taking it but I still have the few pounds it caused me to gain and some breast tenderness but the breast are getting better. It has only been a couple weeks since I have stopped the Progesterone cream but I am so frustrated. I feel so bloated and just plain fat! I am usually in good shape and have been into fitness for many years so having even 5 pounds on my body feels like 15 pounds.

Does anyone know about this or has anyone experienced this? I have an appointment this week with a hormone specialist to get my hormones balanced and my feeling of well being back and the weight off, I hope! I just want to get this 5 pounds off and have energy and good moods again!

Although the progesterone did help with the moodiness, I was told that too much caused me to be Estrogen Dominate, which is why I had weight gain and the other symptoms. I would appreciate any advice or information you might have. I have been checking web sites and get a lot of conflicing information. Has anyone ever used Progesterone cream, the USP natural kind and had any problems?

Thank you,

Hi Debi let me introduce myself. I am Bernie, at present I have a dilpoma in Homeopathy and am going for my practitioners degree. The symptoms you conveyed are not uncommon with Progesterone Creams for the simple fact that the creams introduce into the body way more progesterone than the body would normally produce..ergo..your side effects. My suggestion would be to get off the cream and begin taking Sepia 200C for the moodiness. It should help if not you may need to have the potency raised. If hot flashes and night sweats begin take Sulphur 200C. You will be amazed how quickly they dissappear:) If I can be of any other help let me know. Hugs, Bernie, DIH.
