Happy Father's Day to all you ladies :)

DH is working & won't be home til tomorrow morning so I will either send him to the store to get some new summer duds, or he'll get to stay home w/his Mom while I go for him (I'm opting for the 2nd choice of course)... I of course am putting off calling my Dad who should now be home from his visits out here & back to my sister's in Maine for their HS graduation. It's not a call I "want" to make, it's an obligatory call because it's Father's Day, but I'm the "good daughter" so I'll make a short one & wish him well anyway.

DH went up & did some yardwork around his Mom's place in Vegas on Friday & brought back another van-full from her pantry. I've always known she kept a lot of stuff stocked up - but going through just the pantry one van/car load at a time I'm finding it mind-boggling to say the least!?!?! Some of the packaged stuff we've had to throw out - no telling how long she's had it stashed, but definitely stale or gone bad. Hopefully the canned goods will not end up going the same route - tho the cans look fine - just no dates to go by. Just to give an example - we now have over 3 cases of chicken noodle soup, enough plastic zip lock/garbage (whatever) bags of various sizes, paper towels & toilet paper that I won't be buying any anytime soon just to mention a couple things...We still have several loads to go including 2 freezers full - & she's lived by herself for 20 yrs!

DH cleaned out a spot in his shop to park the new Tahoe inside out of the direct sun, I'm keeping up w/the housework a bit here & there, finished a couple paperback books from my stacks of "unreads" now & have finally started on a quilted seatcover project for our porch swing I've been thinking on for the past year. I've been fighting a sinus thing that's woke me up w/a horrible headache a few nites running but seems to be getting better. Either an Aide or the Nurse comes in from Hospice each weekday to help w/MIL & she's getting weaker & eating/drinking less w/every day that goes by - hasn't been out of bed now for a week, tho still no pain except for her legs as she can't move them anymore.

Life goes on here just can't plan much from one week to the next at this point. Sounds like things are going well for most. Thanks again for all the warm thoughts, cyber-hugs, & just knowing you're here...

Have a good week all.
