Good and bad stuff here.........

Talked to Nikki yesterday and she told me that the doctors said that if Akiva continues to do so well they may in a week or two move her to the island at one of the hospitals here. They have taken her off some of the wires and no more big contraption on her face to help her breathe, she is looking good! Now I know last time they said good news the next day she had a downfall, but I think this time it is going to happen!

That is my little one a real determined one! She sure makes life look good from my eyes!

Now the not so good stuff.... Remember I told you that AL thought he had gout When we were in Vegas, sell turns out it is not gout but seems he has degenerative arthritis, and when he stood on his tip toes it seems to have been the last straw and the weekening has taken its toll. The xrays do not look good for him and the doctor is at the point of looking into almost anything. Seems that he does not think that this will improve much for Al... not good because the pain he is in is pretty bad.

I guess the combo of that and the osteopenia, the degenerative disc disease and the soft tissue rheumatism makes for him to have a lot of nasty stuff going on. But you know what if you never knew that anything was wrong with him to look at him you would not be able to tell, he is so great at hiding his pain.

The doctor wants him to take some time off work and try to recoup, but he is being stubborn... I on the other hand am pushing for the time off. I know that he is startting to think about it too as he said well if I did how will we work this. Men always about money!

Oh well guess I will be surfing to see what we can do to get this man back in the saddle so to speak!

Wishing you all a fabulous day

Hugs, Lor

Oh that must be so painful for him, the poor thing. Good thing he has you around, what could make him feel better except a sexy nurse by his side, hehehe. Take good care of him, and give him my best wishes and prayers.

Love,Alice

I agree she is on the right track now, or I hope she is anyhow!

Nikki is so excited she sounded so excited.

I am sure that the dr will come up with a plan to help slow things down,

if not iut won't be for lack of trying anyhow. We are lucky we do have a dr

who is so keen on keeping up with stuff.

Thanks and hugs, Lor

Lori, I'm so behind on all of this. I'm praying for all of you. Your family has had quite a time of it. I know you can't wait to get your daughter and grand daughter closer to home. Remember I'm right across the border if you need a place to stay. We are probably about 40 min from Childrens Hospital where I assume she is.

Sorry to hear about your DH and his arthritis. This getting older and all the problems are for the birds. Arthritis affects so many of us. I sure wish they would come up with some solutions for it. Medications that don't have so many side effects and work.

I think you are so right, it has to be all the prayers for Akiva that helped her along the way... now she just has to continue doing well!

I am sure that soon we will come up with a plan for dh to help him, but for now

there is not much he can do but take his vioxx and tylenols and hoep for the best.

I am so surprised at how swollen his foot had become with this, looks like it has been broken or something.

Take care, Hugs Lor

Gabby, the doctor told us that for the osteopenia that it is very unlikley that it can repair itself you can with the mega doses of Calcium slow down the process but it is soemthing that will not normally repair. Did you know that it can also deteriorate your muscles, or that is what I read somewhere.

Lots of fingers and toes crossed here for Akvia to be coming closer to home also.

Lori tell Al he definitely needs to rest his back and other joints. Where is the degeneratine disc located, cervical, lumbar region...exactly what part of his back? What kind of pain is it? Throbbing, gnawing, stabbing? What weather conditions seem to bother it the most? What time of day does it seem worse if there is a certain part of day or is ti constant? How does temperature affect it? Better/worse for warmth or cold? Has he noticed any increased pain after eating or drinking any certain foods or drinks? If yes, how does it seem to affect it...worse/better? What kind of movement seems to affect it? Aske him to answer all these questions regarding all his conditions and we'll see if we can't get him some relief.

As soon as you get this info to me I can tell you what to get that might help him. You can email me if you like with the answers. Hugs, Bernie

Thanks Kathie! Yep our guys thqt want the world to think they are A-OK.

I know that this is adding a bit of stress to things but we are going to take it a bit at a time.. seems we dont have room in our lives to take more than little bits anyhow.

Thanks for the prayers and thoughts, we sure could use them!

hugs, Lor

Thanks Alice! This guy of mine would never let me nurse him though, he will grimace and stuff but if I try to baby him for this he just says... Oh I will live with it, as he hobbles away!

Thanks, Lor
