Good and bad stuff here.........

Talked to Nikki yesterday and she told me that the doctors said that if Akiva continues to do so well they may in a week or two move her to the island at one of the hospitals here. They have taken her off some of the wires and no more big contraption on her face to help her breathe, she is looking good! Now I know last time they said good news the next day she had a downfall, but I think this time it is going to happen!

That is my little one a real determined one! She sure makes life look good from my eyes!

Now the not so good stuff.... Remember I told you that AL thought he had gout When we were in Vegas, sell turns out it is not gout but seems he has degenerative arthritis, and when he stood on his tip toes it seems to have been the last straw and the weekening has taken its toll. The xrays do not look good for him and the doctor is at the point of looking into almost anything. Seems that he does not think that this will improve much for Al... not good because the pain he is in is pretty bad.

I guess the combo of that and the osteopenia, the degenerative disc disease and the soft tissue rheumatism makes for him to have a lot of nasty stuff going on. But you know what if you never knew that anything was wrong with him to look at him you would not be able to tell, he is so great at hiding his pain.

The doctor wants him to take some time off work and try to recoup, but he is being stubborn... I on the other hand am pushing for the time off. I know that he is startting to think about it too as he said well if I did how will we work this. Men always about money!

Oh well guess I will be surfing to see what we can do to get this man back in the saddle so to speak!

Wishing you all a fabulous day

Hugs, Lor

Thanks Suzanne! I appreciate the offer on the place to stay, but baby and Mom are in Vancouver, and will soon be back on the island where I can visit as much as I like. My cousin also lives in Van, but it is easier to take a room at a hotel and be right by the hospital and less of an intrution on them.

I agree that getting older is for the birds... we both feel like we shoudld still be in our 20s with the knowledge we now have and then we look in the mirror and think why are we getting so old our minds are not there yet. Life is so funny and can be so cruel!

Well take care and glad to see you pop in to the board! Was great to see you at chat again also!

hugs, Lor

Thanks Bernie, I will be emailing later on to you, actually I was going to ask you for suggestions anyhow but thought I would wait til I got more info from him.

Now getting him to slow down well he may not know it but I am going to be like a thorn in his side. He is not one for relaxing so this could be a major effort on my part.

Anyhow will email you soon!

Good news about Akiva! Hope she continues to improve.Sorry to hear about your DH. I winced when I read that. My arthritis only acts up once in a while - Vioxx seems to help.

You are one strong lady, you know that! Prayers for you all!

You are right this is good news, and I am HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY about it... can you tell :-)

It is hard on dh, and the vioxx seems to help a little when combined with the tylenol but he has had take a second a few times just to be able to sleep at night.

But we are doing what we can and I try to make him comfy.

As for me being a strong lady... never really thought of myself as that.. just that I

find that I handle things when they come up and then crumble when it is over with.

Glad to hear about your little sweetie pie. Hope everything works out with her. News for Al doesn't sound so good though. Is he taking anything for the pain?? Does the doctor think that taking the time off will help heal it or just not make it worse? Do they have disability in Canada?

You're in my thoughts Lori!

Thanks Eldri! Things are good for our grandbaby, but with Al it could be better. He takes Vioxx and Tylenol for the pain but seems that is right now not strong enough.

Yes he should be resting it but well he thinks resting is for babies. I however have been on his case and think it coudl wear off on him.

Hugs, Lor
