Our time w/Hospice was short!

MIL passed away last nite & I am so relieved for her sake that it didn't drag out any longer. The last couple days weren't good for her tho better when she finally took a pain pill & Hospice had just started her on the Morphine patch yesterday afternoon to regulate the pain control. Luckily it didn't get as bad as it could from the cancer I think w/her body shutting down she felt like she was falling apart. All things considered she looked peaceful. DH couldn't quite figure out what he was feeling - but we've had a couple years to prepare & this part really went pretty quickly considering she was still at home on her own 8 weeks ago.
The next few weeks will be a bit busy taking care of business & getting her house on the market. But I'm going to try doing it in day trips & give myself time to come home & unwind at the same time.
Thanks again for all your thoughts & prayers & hugs.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I guess it is a blessing that she didn't have to live in pain for year after year. I know you have rearranged your household and lives to have her live with you and I'm sure she knew how much you all loved her. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hugs,

Condolences on the loss of your mil. Even when "prepared", it still brings sadness. May all go well with the things you need to take care of now.

Take care and lean on each other during this next few months. You have a lot to do, get some help from friends if you can and wish you luck with the house.
Love and hugs, Pam
