If you want to get immediate attention there, just tell the clerk you can't breathe cuz your chest hurts! LOL! I had an EKG and a heart monitor on so fast it made my head spin! Jeez, folks, all I have is a terrible cold! Finally got two breathing treatments which opened up my chest and I can actually breathe without coughing. Slept much better last night. Bobbie was right though, I shouldn't have eaten any solids, tossed my dinner on the way to the hospital, and it's only a 2 minute drive!

The doc gave me a note for work today but I may go in anyway, we'll see. I haven't been there all week so far, and this does not bode well for next week's check! I'm scheduled for 4-9 today, not too bad.

I've decided to let dd in on the problems that are bothering me instead of trying to protect her from them. We talked about this at dinner last night, she's so amazingly mature and creative in the way she solves problems, she could be a big help. She doesn't want to be treated like a "little kid", so we'll brainstorm together. My mom never shared her concerns with me as I was growing up, and I think that's part of the reason I get overwhelmed and don't know which way to turn. It was just the two of us, just like dd and me now, and it must have been so hard for her to shoulder all the problems alone! I think dd and I will have to adopt the song Mom and I loved, "You and Me Against the World" by Helen Reddy. Maybe working together, we can survive this nasty old world!

Take care, dear friends, and have a great day!!! Hugs , Pam

Jeez, Pam, sounds like you've been through the wringer!! I hope you feel better soon. And its ok to let your dd in on whats going on in your life and in your heart, its good for them to know we as parents are not perfect, we have feelings and worries just like everyone else. i think it makes it easier for them to open up to us, if they see that we can open up to them. prayers and hugs!!.........Love,Alice

When I was first divorced, my youngest DD was 5. Because of the problems my older two had my youngest became my rock. That song became our theme song. I still cry when I hear it. She may have been young but I could talk to her about anything. She was very mature and probably helped me more than I helped her. My Mom did not talk to us about any of her problems. I learned about most of them after she died. Now I keep my children in the loop. It helps with the stress and pressures.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

Hugs

Pam I am so glad that you went in to ER last night, and that you are breathing a bit easier. I am hoping that you get over this thing very quickly, it is not good being

sick like that!

I think you are smart in talking with your dd, she can prove to be a good support system,

and it probably will help things go smoother!

Big hugs and lots and lots of get well wishes!

Hugs, Lor

Pam,

Glad you are breathing better. Not being able to breathe has to be one of the scariest things I know of.

Take care,

Rain

Pam, it is such a wonderful thing when your child, especially your daughter, grows up enough to become your friend. She never stops being your daughter and you are always her mother, of course, but there is just something more.

I know how you feel about needing to go to work rather than risking yet an even smaller paycheck. At least take really good care of yourself when you get home then. Hope you start feeling better.
