Limos for the graduation party.....

The grads were so surprised to have big stretch limos, rented from a large Seattle company driving up to their school. Each one had the same music playing, "Fly like an Eagle", since their school mascot is the Eagle. The grad committee out-did themselves. Each grad (120 went to the party) paid $50 and the rest of the money was raised thru fundraisers we had like a carwash, Luau night and auction. Anyway, the limos took the grads on a scavenger hunt to different stores like Best Buy, where they all got gifts (CDs, gift certificates, etc). Then they went to the Golf Course for a nice dinner and ended the evening at the Elk's Club where there was a DJ all night playing music, pool tables, fooseball, and other games to play. There were also many door prizes (at the dinner), but Ds didn't get one of those. There was even a LapTop as one of the prizes.

Dru said only 5-6 kids crashed before it was time to go at 6:00am. They had a Ball!!! Gabby

Definitely a nite to remember. Are our kids more sophisticated than we were? We never even entertained the thought of limos for ANY graduation event. LOL! Things like this make wonderful memories for the grads to carry with them always. And sounds as if they worked for it as well as contributing to the expense. That's truly wonderful. Many hugs sweetie.

Very memorable indeed! I think the kids were in shock with the limos, but the committee wanted to do something extra special for this first class to go all 6 years, and it certainly was extra special. Big Hugs, G

I love that California tradition of Disney open after hours for grads! Dh drove down with his class in a chartered bus. lol Not quite a limo or an airplane but they still had fun. I flew to Cinncinati with my journalism class. Only out-of-town school trip I ever remember taking before college.Hugs, BB

Gabby, your kids got a lot for their money. My twins graduated from Ferndale this year. There were 89 that went on the grad trip for $120 each. They went right after graduation at 9pm on two charter buses. First stop was Funtasia? in Lynnwood. After that they went on an Argossy cruise boat on Lake Union where there was food, gambling with fake money and dancing. They all got off the bus the next morning looking like zombies. Mine also slept for about 6 hours, then went to two graduation parties and then just had to go swimming at Lake Whatcom. It was like they just couldn't give up the fun and go to bed.

That sounds like a very fun time! Would you believe, I have never been on an Argosy cruise, and we live just across the water. I really want to do that sometime. Gabby
