I went down to Newport this week-end

to buy a new bra or two. Took one look at myself standing half naked in jeans that were too tight and consequently were squishing the lower part of me up while the upper part was drooping down. It was scary. I marched out of there determined to wear this one ratty tatty, sometimes elusive bra that I have until I've lost enough weight that I can stand proudly in front of that mirror again. Or at least until I have the sense to try something on without actually looking in the mirror! I am now doing what I should have been doing all along...writing absolutely everything down that I eat and estimating the calories. It's amazing how fast they add up. But I'm being good. I passed up the doughnuts and pastries that someone was passing around this morning. I did have my Friday chai, though, but without whipped cream. And just as I thought I was getting away from work relatively safely calory-wise, my co-worker stopped and left a small brownie on my desk on her way out. My arm reached out, picked it up and threw it in the waste basket...but, for some reason, my aim was off and it ended up in my mouth. Is there a level in Dante's hell for dieters who give in. That's where I'm headed in the afterlife, I'm afraid.

Kat,

First of all, if you broke/cut that brownie in half---all the calories fall out so...no calories!! That's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL

Second, I know how you feel...I'm trying to find my motivation to get serious and stay on a diet...I used the one that worked the best for me a number of years ago but now can't seem to stick with it. Frustrating.

Good luck and stick with it....don't beat yourself up when you fail to stay on the diet, after all tomorrow is another day!

Hugs,

Kathie

Thanks, Shar-Who-Doesn't-Post-As-Much-As-She-Should. I've been trying to estimate calories from reading package labels, etc. but am probably way off. That will help.

As Gabby said, I'm on the coast of Oregon not too far from Newport. Are you, by any chance, in this area?

Kathie, this is just mind-boggling. I think that is the most creative diet technique I've heard yet. I shall start tearing all my food apart before eating it to free all those trapped calories. Thank you so much!!!

oh Kat good luck, I have the same problem, wearing my jeans so tight it pushes the gut up, so the tire appears,, its sad,, lol,, I lost alot when I was on the Herbal life diet,, soon as I can get ahead I am going back on it, My sister started it and has lost about 20 pounds, she looks so nice. i HATE TO EVEN LOOK PAST MY FACE IN A MIRROR!,,but someday I will loose this unwanted stuff that hangs here. I keep telling myself there is a skinny person in there, screaming to get out. Good luck kido,, hugs,,,,,Pam
