lol Today is the first day of our 2 weeks of the beginning portion of the South Beach diet. lol And I have to admit even though dh was asking things like, "Now how many peanuts do I get?" I'm the one who snarled first. I just turned on Oprah to tape her for my sis and Oprah said, "64% of Americans are overweight..." Well I snarled and said back to her as I turned it off, "And many of us know that already lady, dagnabit!" lol The only good thing is that dh didn't hear me so I don't have to be chalked up as the first to lose my cool. Tonight roasted veggies and very lean grilled round steaks. (Thought I'd start dh off with red meat then he won't be able to complain about the chicken, chicken, chicken and fish.) Hugs, BB

Good luck, BB. I for one could never stick to any organized diet. Just tried to cut back. Now I wish I could get away from my snacking frenzy. I just don't feel as well when I don't eat right, but that sure doesn't stop me. I will be pulling for you and dh. Charlie

Good luck with the diet, BB. It actually sounds pretty good. Isn't it interesting how an okay meal looks so much sparcer when you know it's part of a "diet"! Just look at you plates at night and pretend you're eating in one of those ultra-trendy places where they give you miniscule portions surrounded by vegetable curli-cues and artfully spattered with some kind of spinach tofu sauce.

Actually the biggest reason we both agreed to go on this diet was that it is supposed to not let one go hungry. I wasn't and dh only missed his afternoon snacks more as a ritual I think more than actually being hungry. We both lost about 2 lbs this morning so that ought to keep us going for a few more days lol. A few things I've discovered yesterday: No fat half and half ain't worth it! Skim milk frothed up does better for my morning coffee. And V8 may be ok but it sure ain't OJ for first thing in the morning! It is easier for my to omit the V8 and drink it later in the day than to have it for breakfast. And dh needs an entire can of tuna in his salad for lunch. A less than half a can may work for me but what is left doesn't do the job for him at all at all.-BB

Gab, ya just have to move more if ya gonna eat Blizzards lol. I did have a soft serve cone on Saturday night and then a tiramitsu for desert Sunday night. (Actually had to dump about half of the tira as it was so rich and good and I didn't want it in the fridge calling to me.) Goodness! That's the first time I've ever "prepped" for a diet. Seems like if a body prepped for too long, they'd have to work on losing even more weight. Hope that Blizzard tasted really good! Hugs, BB

Oh well seeing as he never heard you snarl then it does not count... Whew so he is still in the race.

That does not sound like too bad of a diet... will hve to think about it for myself, only thing is if I diet, the family diets and that could get rather testy!

Good luck on it!

Hugs, Lor

BB,

I'm proud of you for starting this diet! Good luck and keep trying....also do not tell dh you snarled...he didn't hear so it doesn't count! LOL Besides Oprah makes me snarl all the time!

Dieting isn't pleasant at my house either since dh has wierd metabolism and he can just stop snacking and he drops weight....I on the other hand have to struggle and plan and avoid....ah well.

I also learned that I have to watch portions as well as what I eat....just a thought.

Hugs and take care,

Kathie

Good luck with this BB. I was at the doc yesterday...tried to ignore the scale but then the nurse wrote EVERYTHING on a piece of paper right in front of me!! GRRR! Anyway, I seem to be holding my own even tho no losing is happening. Keep us posted on all developments! This should be good! Hugs!
