Now I gues syou can tell I am a happy chickeria here!!! I am almost raisng the roof with my hip hip hoorays.
Anyhow that is my good news for the day... long time coming but hey well worth the wait.
Now my dr. appointment was so so... he says yes I do have rosacea and also some major skin damage from the sun... he gave nme a good long lecture.. told me from now on I need to wear nothign but long sleeves, a big floppy hat and my shirt buttoned up to my neck.
Now will I listen um errrr well not likely will do more sunscreen though.
He said it will cost me about 1700. for laser treatment if I chose to do that... dh had already promised me I would get it done this coming year so guess that will help some.
I did try to tell him I do not go out a lot in the sun and well he turned and said and you ma'am are a liar... look at your arms they are not white you do so go in the sun.
I more or less shut up then, figure I will not win with him.
Anyhow sun screen and me are best friends now and maybe I will help thi sout a bit... was not happy he would not give me cream for the rosacea though.
Oh well that is it for me need to go get showered up and chat with the family for a bit.

I won't lecture you about the sunscreen and hats. I too hate hats. Just be careful!
I'll keep praying.

Here we are living in one of the areas of the country that has so much rain and we have sun damage. Good thing we didn't grow up in California.
Yep a big happy step forward just what I like to see!

We need a Happy Dance icon on here! I'm so glad for your family! What a tough little girl Akiva is! She and the rest of your family will continue to be in my prayers!
Also, glad to hear you're usingv sunscreen! I had a doc tell me that I must have laid out alot as a teen since I have lots of moles especially on my chest---I almost fell off the exam table laughing...I burn too easily and rarely laid out as a teen. I've used sunscreen more or less regularly....but will be more serious now.
Take care girfriend and give that sweet baby a hug from me,
Kathie
Sorry about your skin stuff, and I really know how you feel! I am so super fair that if I am in the sun for any length of time I am red in an instant....and it does not turn into a tan! And to top it all off, some of the medications I take make me even more sensitive to the sun, so between you and me, the sunscreen people are going to get RICHER! LOL!
Well, you do know that the Southern Belles were prized for their white, creamy skin and it was totally tacky to have a tan....so guess we are in the Southern Belle arena now!

DH has rosacea. The dermatologist put him on tetracycline and it has cleared up. Extended use of an antibiotic is not my first choice of treatment but nothing we tried helped. He was getting big sores so it is nice that he doesn't have to put up with that.
How about SPF 50 for your sunscreen collection? Hee hee! Seriously, make slathering that stuff on part of your daily routine and before long you'll just do it without thinking twice about it. I am lucky not to have skin problems since I was definitely in the sun often thru out my 20s & 30s. I worked outdoors and we water skied a lot and snow skied some. Keeping fingers crossed that I remain problem-free.
Hugs to the happy grandma & Akiva!
