This was so strange....

This morning I went to the funeral of

a friend's father, well-known in Hawaii.

There was a 52 year old "paperboy" named

Daniel among those attending. (he sells

newspapers in one of our finest Honolulu

neighborhoods)

Small, scrawny and sweet as a button, but you

could tell he also has slight mental impairment.

Well, what bothered us was that he had to take

a bus to get to the funeral, which was on the

other side of the island near the sea, and because

of that he did not get to the service until near the

end, but just before the lunch.

Bothered us because he is none other than the

only brother of Bette Midler (yes the Divine M);

I mean, there she is with her millions and

her brother had to take a bus and be late????

Apparently he lives with his other sister Susan

in that neigborhood, but still...hmmmmm....it just

did not seem right to us.

What would you have thought??

HUGS,

Cindy

WOW!!! A little surprised, but how else would he get there, I wouldn't think he could drive. It's hard to know what goes on in there family. Maybe he insists on being self-sufficent. Gabby

Cindy, maybe he didn't tell Susan where he was going, maybe he's determined to be independent.....there could be any number of reasons. Please don't be too hard on his family until you know, for certain, what the whole story is.

Well Cen,

Just goes to show you, the "devine" Ms M isn't so devine is she. I have thought that ever since she stole Martha Rays script. Ms M may have won in court but anyone who followed Martha Rays life knows that script desribed her life. Since then you couldn't pay me to spend money on anything having to do with her. Just wish millions of others felt the same.

Because you mention her brother possibly having a slight mental impairment, maybe the bus is a form of independence for him. By the way, who of you took him home?

Yes, we offered to take him home, the poor thing,

but when we looked for him after lunch we couldn't

find him.

To look at him was so touching, and we felt so

bad.

Cindy

I am so sorry to hear of your friends dad! Now as for the boy, I am wondering if

perhaps his pride is in the way of being helped and maybe he would not accept any of

his sisters fame and wealth to get along.

I know it is easy to assume that he was ignored by his sister, but I have found often people will not accept help.

Now this is how I would like to think of it was, would hate to think that our Ms. Midler

was like that to her family!

Anyhow that is my take on it!

Hugs, Lor

I think his impairment was what led his other sister

Susan to go into the field of mental health for

decades. They recently moved back to Hawaii, after

living in NYC closer to Bette.

Really, lol, several of us had the same

on them. Actually, my girlfriends had

even more mischievous thoughts!

We'll be good lol.
