Nothing much happening here to write about. I'm looking forward to a three day week-end but probably won't be able to see the fireworks on the 4th. I'm on call and if I were to go down to the beach, I'd never be able to get out of there and to work if I happened to be called. This place is a madhouse on the 4th and will be worse than usual this year since it is on a Friday. However, a friend of mine is getting married on Saturday in a town south of here and they happen to be doing their display on the 5th. So after the wedding, those of us who want to will stay for that and I think I will.

Zana had her first day in her new apartment yesterday and loved it. She is so excited to have a little place of her own. She is really enjoying every little wierd and eccentric thing about it...like the fact that all the ceilings are at an angle and that the whole apartment is at one end while the bathroom is all by itself at the other end of a long hall. Joe just got back for a family reunion with his dad's family. I'm anxious to here about it from him. I haven't seen those people in a long, lonmg time, although I was hoping I might be able to see some of them when I go to Idaho in August for my nephew's wedding.

That's it. Off to bed.

HI Kat

Sure hope you enjoy those fireworks on the 5th. There will be no fireworks here this year too much fire danger. I bet Zana is loving being on her own, sounds like a nice apt.

Have a great 4th

Hugs and Love

Mary

Actually, Leilani, Zana hasn't been home much since she went to college so this isn't a new adjustment for me. As for the birds, lots of ups and downs there. I lost the mother bird, found out that she had left behind several babies that the father was taking very good care of; then just as I was rejoicing about that, something got into the greenhouse and got the father and the babies. I think it may have been a rat. That left one young female from the previous hatching. She was tremendously lonely and bewildered so as soon as I was able, I got a young male to keep her company and everyone's happy again.

Miss you too!
