Where we live, fireworks are allowed, so some of our neighbors had them. This is the first year we didn't do them ourselves. We had the TV up loud watching a movie but you could still hear the noise. We have 2 cats....Socks went under the bed, her favotie place, but curious Tiger went right to the window to see what she could see...LOL. Nothing seems to bother Tiger, she has to have her nose in everything. Gabby

Tiger sounds like a great cat. No fireworks here. They are illegal and if you are caught with them they do arrest you. It is so dry it can cause fires.

Love ya

The wierd thing is that 4th of July is the only day they are allowed off the reservation, not on New Years's. July is so dry and hot and New Years is wet, so what sense does it make...LOL. Last year we had rain on July 3 which was great but this year no rain so I get concerned with all the trees and thick ground cover everywhere around here. Gabby

Aww, your cats act so cute!! We had

fireworks going on all over, and lots

of displays.

But the biggie in Hawaii is New Year's

Eve, when every household literally

burns up thousands of bucks work of

fireworks. Cough, cough, cough! lol.

Actually, our tradewinds help immensely by

blowing the smoke away, so it is not that

bad. So pretty though, as with all of that

the entire sky above Hawaii is lit up and

you can see it from outer space.

Hugs to the cats!!!

love, Cin

We have fireworks here...last year we couldn't shoot them in town because of lack of rain.

This year is okay tho' I still hear them today too. We have a huge fireworks show put on but the city after dark. It lasts about 20-30 mins. Great show for our small town.

We bought some but didn't shoot them off...I usually get sparklers and snaps and some ground twirley things....The sparklers are for New Year's Eve.

Our dogs hate them--they hide and/or follow us closely wherever we go in the house and refuse to go out! The cat, Cloe, was sitting in her fav window when some went off--she craned herneck really high and swiveled her head trying to see what the heck that awful noise was! LOL

The Laughlin casinos sponsor a big display (actually last nite & tomorrow nite w/the Indian casino halfway between Laughlin & Needles on the Nevada side doing their's tonite) - I think it's listed as one of the top 10 places in the US to watch fireworks. As it's only about a 1/2 hr drive away that's where I usualy take the boys to hang out on our side of the river & watch but w/S13's broken leg he really didn't feel like the trek so S15 went w/a girlfriend's family last nite & we had a non-event & went to bed. Arizona doesn't allow fireworks of any kind so it seems like kind of a non-holiday unless you drive half hour to sit in a parking lot & tailgate watch w/hundreds of other people. The last time I tried to take the boys into Laughlin proper we couldn't find ANY place to park so we ended up on the AZ side of the river anyway. I grew up in California where we could do our own, neighborhood stuff, & the town parks always did something too minimally.

Actually I did a trek to Las Vegas today to sort thru some more of MIL's stuff on my own while DH is at work & completely forgot tonite's festivities at the AVI casino & got stuck right in the middle of the traffic jam that was trying to depart the area just about the time I drove into it. If I'd remembered about half hour earlier I could've circled around down to Needles & back across the river there, avoided it, & been home a half hour sooner. Plus I missed all the fireworks 'cept the ones people had brought to shoot from their parking places.

They aren't allowed in the city limits here, but there always are a lot of people setting them off in the different neighborhoods. I really don't think the police are out just patroling around for the reason to catch them in the act. San Antonio does have several places to go for public displays. We have 2 of our Air Force bases, Sea World, Fiesta Texas and a couple of the city parks who put on controled shows. We went out with my sis, her dd and our son#2 to look at them out by Sea World. Where we were, we couldn't see the low ones, but at least we enjoyed being with out with each other. BIG HUGS. ..Free
