I Had A Good Day Today

I went to my 83 year old aunts house and asked her if she wanted to go for a ride. I wanted her to show me the cemetery where her baby brother was buried over 80 years ago. Her grandparents are buried there too. We then took a long ride in the area that she grew up and then out to eat. She seemed to enjoy it imensely and it was enjoyable to me too.

Last night was a rough one around here. There were a lot of funnels sighted around here. The closest one was about 5 miles from my house. Luckily the ones that touched down were out in the marsh or in the fields and didn't hurt anything. Tonight we're suppose to have storms again and a cool front is suppose to come through. Thank God. I'm so sick of this steamy weather. Boy what I'd do for an air conditioner. Oh well, maybe some day.

Tomorrow will be my first day back to work since my dads funeral. I was suppose to be on vacation but decided I would prefer to take it at a later time, maybe September. Good night my friends. Sleep well...... kaci

Kaci, sounds like your day was good for both you and your aunt! I'm glad you got a chance to do that, our elder relatives are gone all too soon!

I hope work will provide some comfort for you, and keep you busy. I'm so sorry about your dad, know how tough that is. Next Monday will be the 6th anniversary of my mom's death, still miss her sooooo much!!!

Take care!

Love and hugs, Pam

Kaci, your time with her was so touching.

My 90-year old aunt loves to reminisce

with us about stuff that happened in the

1920s, 30s and 40s...its amazing that they

remember all that!!!

Thank you for sharing.

((((((((((Hugs)))))))))

Kaci sounds like a good time for you both. I sure hope those storms stay away and that you get some relief from that sticky heat. I hate that kind of weather too.

Hope today is a good one for you

Hugs

Kaci, what a nice thing to do for your aunt. You are always thinking of others.

Enjoy the cool weather when you get it! It's cold and raining here right now but I guess that's better than steamy. I will be thinking about you and hoping that there is no damage from tornadoes in your area this season.

Take care.

Yes, she's now the oldest living relative and I so hate to think of the day that she's no longer with us. She was my mother's oldest sister. My mom has been gone for over 33 years now.

My dad's funeral was harder than I thought it would be. It's kind of the end of an era. Many times since then I've wanted to tell him something only to realize that I couldn't. Even when he was very sick and sometimes mean to us and sometimes out of it, he was still there. Oh well, we all have to go through it sometime.

It was very interesting. She showed me where her grandparents are buried. Also, several of her aunts & uncles are in the same cemetery. She showed me the grave of my grandpa's baby sister and I didn't even know that he had a sister that died at age four. As we drove through the countryside she told me how the area use to look. I thourally enjoyed it.
