Our deck is in dire need of something...lol..Needs to be refinished. Before it can be finished it needs to be cleaned. Went over it last night with soap and water and a long handled brush. Looks way better..Today going over it with algea, fungus cleaner. Amazing how much green is on the deck. Of course grass and plants around the deck need to be covered..That is a job in it's self. Then after that have to go over it with another cleaner, brightner..Then will have to let it dry for a couple of days before we can put the new finish on. Think this will be a two weekend project...depending on the weather.

To put the algea cleaner on have to wear gloves, boots, and safety glasses..great stuff..going to look like a super geek doing this...lol...Took two trips to Home Depot..one dh did and one we both went. My favorite store...NOT. So if anyone is wondering what I'm up today,..Thats it!

Have a good one

Hugs

RJ

HI Rj,

Sounds like you are going to be busy. My deck was the darkest grey and ds poerwashed it and it looks like new wood I would never have believed it possible. Good Luck with your deck,I think a picture of you in your goggles would be great LOL!

Have a good weekend!

Rj sounds like a big job. I love Home Depot to and made a trip with dh there yesterday!!

What is it with men and Home Depot?? Oh well it keeps them busy I suppose.

Hope you get the deck done early and can enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Hugs and Love

Mary

Well RJ I know it is not fun doing that to the deck, but just think how great it will look when it is all done. Good luck with the rest of the job! Let us know how it looks when all done!

Hugs, Lor

RJ,

I love it when dh gets on the stick about my "honey-do" list. I also enjoy our rare strip to Home Depot--it's sort of a dream thing for us since we rent. We live far enough away from one that it is a big deal when we get to go one! I even like to go to the neighborhood hardware store to see what I can fins when I root around in the back shelves.

Have fun---I'm picturing you in goggles--and also enjoy your deck when it's all done and looking spiffy!

Hugs,

Kathie

Well, RJ, sounds like you have your day all planned out! LOL But after all that, that deck should look absolutely fantastic. But I hope you don't have to do this again for a LONG time!

RJ, at least you picked the right day to do the job....no rain, a nice breeze, hope it wasn't too warm out there in that "space suite". We only have a small deck off our bedroom, but I remember a number of years ago dh had to actually re-do most of it. The boads were falling apart and I was afraid I'd go right through it. I stained it when he was done, but looking at it lately, I see it needs work again. At least I think it's just cleaning and staining this time. As far as Home Depot, I think dh prefers Menards..seems he's always finding a reason to go there...or Walmart. Not sure what he finds so exciting at Walmart, but he could go there every day...fishing? hunting? hardware? The do have those things. Hope you get to enjoy your Sunday and relax a bit. Charlie
