It's been a busy weekend up til now. Friday morning did the 15 mile bike ride with ds. Weather was perfect....about 65 and partly cloudy, got finished about 10 min before it rained a bit. Came home and ds was so tired he ate lunch and slept for 3 hrs, lol. Then we picked those dreaded raspberries. The patch was a mess, but we managed to pick a couple of dozen pints. I sent ds off to boy scout camp yesterday morning then came home and spent 4-1/2 HOURS cleaning out the weeds and dead raspberry bushes so it would be easier to pick. What a job, but the berries are so big and sweet that I just hate to see them go to waste. My neighbor came down and picked and chatted while I cleaned out weeds. Since none of you are coming to help, I'll be out there picking again today or tomorrow. Gardens still need some weeding, but I'm taking it easy for now, may get out there this evening as the sun goes down. After alot of rainy days, we've had a lovely weekend. The board seems pretty quiet these days, so everyone must be out enjoying the summer. Back later....Charlie

Actually, we have a few blackberry bushes around the yard, but by the time I'm done with the raspberries, I just don't fell like picking them. Also, we have a cherry tree that's loaded and I'm thinking I should make some jelly, it would be a first though. Enjoy your berries. Charlie

Charlie sounds like a good weekend. I would have come to help you but I will probably not be back that way until Sept.

It has been pretty quiet here today.

Charlie,

Sounds like a busy day. Hope you wore long sleeves. Those bushes can be a tad nasty. We have been picking here everyday. Good thing the kids love blackraspberries. Started a new patch last year and it's already spreading everywhere.

Sounds like a good weekend for you Charlie! BEt you r ds was beat after a ride like that.. I think I too would have crashed for a bit after it was over.

I think weeding is the worst part about gardens and stuff... the weeds just seem to multiply. I think though that having company while you were weeding does help make the time go by better!

Have a good day! Hugs, Lor
