Mac needs a bypass

We went to the doctor's to get the results of the scan taken on his legs. His left femoral artery is totally blocked necessitating the by pass surgery. Of course after dragging his butt all over Vegas and complaing about his having to sit and rest every ten feet I feel like a heel. Would you believe Mac thought this was going to be same day surgery? When I told him he would have to stay all he was worried about was eating hospital food. The man is incredible! I guess I won't be entering him in any marathons in the near future...darn.

We set a moving date in August but now everything depends on this surgery, the man will do anything to get out of moving:) Mac has no problem with the move he just doesn't want to move any furniture. He be happy as a clam if we just brought the bed, his chair, the tv and milk crates... the rest can be left here.

Welcome to all the newbies, prayers to all who need them. Hope our Tx. gals stay dry and hurrican free. Hugs to all, Bernie

Bernie I sure hope the bypass goes well. When will they do it?. Mac is a really sweet guy and I really enjoyed meeting him in Vegas. Please give him a hug from me and tell him that once this is done he will be feeling so much better.

Love to you both

Cappy, thanks so much for sending the "vibes" They are very much appreciated.

We have an appointment on the 28th. to see the surgeon. Would you believe the surgeon that Mac's doctor told us to call is not even affilated with the hospital anymore! I am not surprised when I told her 3 years ago he was suffering from gout she told me I was wrong and treated him for cellulitis. For 2 years he suffered from this until I insisted he be tested for gout and sure enough that is what it was. All that suffering could have been avoided. I want him to change doctors but he says he likes her...that makes one of us. Oh well, better days are coming. Hugs, Bern

Thanks for the well wishes. We have an appointment with the surgeon on the 28th. so we'll know more after that. We just wish it was all over and done with. Mac is worried he will be laid up for months. I told him he won't but until he hears it from the doctor he will worry. His older brother is having bypass/ valve replacement surgery tomorrow. The men in this family are falling apart! Good thing they have strong women behind them:) Keep us in your prayers. Love, Bern

Not sure where my last post to this went but will post again. bernie I am so sorry that Mac needs by-pass surgery. I hope that they can do it very soon so he can feel better real quick. You know it is understandable why you never clued in to Max being tired in Vegas with all that heat the majority of us were a lot slower moving than the norm.

Give Mac a big hug and tell him I said that he can tough the hospital food for a while... if it means his feeling that much better!

Hugs, Lor

Bernie, sorry about Mac, but sounds like this will help his problem. I hope he's not laid up to long, one way of getting waited on, huh? As far as feeling guilty, I know what you mean. The other day dh was out in the raspberry patch and I was on the phone and he came in complaining that something "bit" or "stung" him. He went on and on and all I saw was a little red dot. After he went back outside, I told my df that "men are such babies", he probably ran into a thistle. When I went back outside, he said he found a hornets nest and was spraying it...man, I'm glad I didnt' run into that and he took care of it for me. Needless to say, I was feeling a little sheepish myself, lol. Take care, and keep us posted on Mac's progress. Charlie

Hi Lor, Thanks for the support we really do appreciate it. As for Mac eating hospital food...never. He would literally starve himself first:) Ya wanna bet I'll be cooking before I leave for the hospital and running a delivery service? I wonder how he will get through the day without his Pepsi? Charlie, thanks for your kind words. I hope he's not laid up too long either. The darn man might get use to it:)

Man your dh got stung by a hornet...OUCH! Glad he wasn't allergic. I could just see him out there twitching on the ground and you gabbing on the phone:) What we put our husbands through:) A little suggestion for future hornet spraying...its best done at night when they are in the hive sleeping that way you cna be sure you got them all and they won't cause such a fuss. I tried this method with a bee hive and it works great! Hugs, Bernie
