Good morning to everyone and thanks for the warm welcome. Its warm and muggy here this morning, good to see the sun after the rainy day yesterday. I am waiting on some more news from my son Dusty, we finally had a phone call on the 4th. It was very brief and some sad but glad news, he had been shot twice. His vest saved his life. We were pretty much in shock the whole holiday. I had not heard from him til then since he went to Iraq in May. Now I have received 4 letters. My dog Coco is 16 and half blind and deaf, but the vet says she is in no pain, so we just make her comfortable.Mostly she just sleeps and likes to eat her treats. My other dog Spanky, a chihuahua, is 10 and the baby, he thinks!! My grandson has a beagle named Charlie Brown, and he is only 4 and keeps us laughing all the time with his antics. Our cat Dixie, she is 11 and keeps all the dogs in line!! I hope everyone has a great day and again thanks for the great welcome. Sherry

Many hugs, Cappy

I am so glad you heard from your son and that he is ok. I am sure this is a very hard time for you. We have another lady here on our board who's son is also in Iraq. Sending lots of prayers for his safety and that soon he will be coming home.
I have a 13yr old cocker spaniel and she is completely deaf now. She too lives to eat and get her treats.
Hope you have a good Tuesday
Hugs
Mary
I can't remember whether I welcomed you already or not, so WELCOME! I'm Red, 48, from WA State.
It sent a lump to my throat to read about your DS! I so hope he will be safe from here on out and gets to come home soon. I cannot imagine receiving news like that! Here are some big bear hugs from me...((((Sherry)))))
I'm an animal lover, too, but my greatest affinity is for cats. I have 2, Jac (who is a polydactyl Tabby with 7 toes on each of his front paws), 8; and CeCe, a white shorthair with charcoal grey spots. She's 3 and looks a little like a Holstein cow! LOL!

I hope that very soon your ds will be coming home and you can see with your own eyes that he is just fine.
hugs, Lor
