Being brand new to the board thought I'd pose the question. What is the single most important thing you think you've learned as you've gotten older????

Having battled cancer over the last year mine is definately "If you don't have your health....you don't have anything...so don't take your life for granted and live it to the fullest!"

Most important thing I have learned in life,, wow thats a hard one. well I never thought in a million years I would beable to buy my own home, and I did. never thought I could do it on my own,, and I did. We all can do what we want if we put our minds to it, and this group of ladies helped me see that and do it,,, I owe them many thanks............hugs...Pam

I think the most important thing that I have learned is that I can do things on my own. It wasn't til I was through the divorce and taking care of 3 young children, one of whom is disabled, and working full time, that I realized that I did it all my self even while I was married. I didn't think I had it in me. I am stronger than I thought.

You are right about your health. When it all comes down to it that is what matters.

Welcome to the board Barb, so nice to meet you! I think my dh and I feel the same way you do, he had cancer 5 years ago and is doing quite well today. They had given him a 10-20% chance of surviving. I think we have learned to live your life and not "save" things for later, enjoy them now!! Hugs, Gabby

Welcome Barb,

The most important thing. Hmmmmmm Guess it would most things aren't as important as we sometimes think. For me, only people count, stuff is just that.... stuff.

I do hope all is well with you now.

Wow what a good question! Hmmm single most important thing to me could possibly be when things look destitute that does not mean that they will fail. My dgd was born 3 months premature and the chances of her survival were pretty slim and here she is home from the hospital. Yes she never gave up and she fought her whole way through but she is here to show it can be done. My thing would be to not give up!

Welcome to our board glad that you found us, and hope to see you around here lots!

Hi Barb, welcome to the group.

The single most important thing I've learned over the years? Having suffered many losses, some quite sudden, I learned to truly appreciate my loved ones, and to let them know how I feel at every opportunity.
