I might get fired on Monday!

Me and my big mouth! :( Yesterday, Friday afternoon, I was on my break and I went into the store office and calmly asked the assistant manager if the A/C guys had been called. The A/C in the pharmacy is on a separate unit and has not worked for almost 4 weeks, and it's hotter than blue blazes by mid-afternoon. Well! His eyes got big, and he said "YES, they've been called! Didn't you ask me that yesterday???" I said "Yes, and I got the same smart answer I always get, about playing with the thermostat and breaking it." He got very angry, shouted at me that I don't run the store, and with the kind of day he had, he didn't need this, blah, blah blah! "It's not a toy to play with!!" That did it! I said he had no right to talk to me that way, that I'm not a child, and know it's not a toy! He ranted some more, so I turned and walked out of the office. On my way out, I said, "Bas***", and I thought I said it under my breath, but apparently some people heard me. So, I got sent home, about a half hour early. Then my boss called me later and said I've been suspended "until further notice" pending an investigation! Well, I'm sorry that other people heard me, but this guy pushed my last button. I've tried to be friendly with him since he came there about a year ago, but he's not easy to read. He blows me off every time I ask him something, like I'm some peon not worthy of his time. Anyway, I was just venting, didn't mean any harm, but now I'll probably get fired, if he has his way about it.

So I find myself at loose ends, don't quite know what to do with myself! Sarah leaves tomorrow for a week, maybe I'll clean the condo from top to bottom. Our driveways and "lanes" got the final layer of asphalt today, it looks so much nicer now with defined edges around the yard and no more lumps in the driveway to twist the old ankles! Tomorrow we can pull the car back in.

Well, guess I'll go to bed, it's 1:20 in the morning! Dd's friends are here for the night again, and one has to be at work at Taco Bell at 8!! Ugh! So much for sleeping in! Hope you all have a great Sunday, and stop working so hard! You all make me look lazy! LOL!

Hugs, Pam

Pam, I hope not, and that they should at least give

you another chance. Have a great Sunday, and let

us know. We are always here for you.

love,

Cindy

Are you union, and if you are do you have a union rep or shop steward???? I you have any of these contact someone immediately. NO one in the workplace has a right to talk to you like that. What you should have done is hold up your hand ( in a stop position), then say very calmy that you are leaving and will NOT allow him to talk to you in that tone. This is the correct procedure in cases as this. Anyway make sure to contact the union or put in a "grevience IN WRITING" to your superior. Also if anyone else has heard the way he has spoken to you then or in the past, also get that in writing. Being a shop steward, I deal with issues like this at work, hope this info helps...let me know how it goes......

(((((((((Pam)))))))), I am so sorry this happened. This guy sounds like someone that likes to push his authority around. He also talks to you in a demeening way. Does he talk to the men like that, or just the women? You should not lose your job over this. If you are Union, they will probably "write you up", but that's about it. Let us know, my friend. BIG hugs, Gabby

Pam, this guy sounds like a jerk. You should write down your version of what happened and any other instances from before including any witnesses. Be ready for this investigation. I hope you don't lose your job over this. I think that would be a little drastic. Try to keep busy.

Good Luck

Pam I am sorry sounds like you could lose your job. That man sounds like a real nasty guy but unfortunately he is the boss. I bet a better job is just waiting for you somewhere else.Enjoy your Suday and don't look at me all I did yesterday was get the dust off my ceiling fans and dust the rest of the house. Going to run the sweeper today.

Love

Mary

Hopefully everyone involved will take several deep breaths and resolve this rationally and maturely. If he is in the habit of acting like this with employees he needs to change his attitude. Do you have staff meetings? Is there any kind of forum for all employees to voice suggestions and/or greivances? If not, maybe this will bring that about. I'm not very literate about labor laws but I'm sure there are proceedures to be followed even if no union is involved. The suspension may be all the discipline they require this time. But you two definitely need to work on that relationship. Who knows, this could turn out to be a good thing. And the hot weather/lack of AC most likely put everyone on edge. I say go talk to those people Pam. Many hugs, Cappy

I think the dude needs some serious ANGER MANAGEMENT classes in the worst way! Let me at the guy! ha ha ha... Wew what flew up that guys but and died. I think you should turn the dude in. Or if you get your job back put a tape recorder in your pocket and when ya go back to work and the a c still is not working you march your little but back into that dude's office with your nose in the air like ya own the place and ask him again about when the a c is going to be fixed. Then when he treats ya like a worm of the dust take the tape to the manager and play it back for him and ask him if he would like some one talking to him/her like you're a cockroach or some thing and get that dudes but fired.

Well now that you are off you will have time to play with Hula Girl ha? Yeah! I will start making the maitais now and get your hammock ready for ya... Party Time!

Aloha,

Hula Girl
