Zana has worked her first few shifts at the Children's Home. It's been an up and down experience. Right now she's going through that difficult and awkward time of not really knowing anyone or what she's doing. She was supposed to work with younger kids today but when she got there, she was put in with the older boys for the first hour. Discombobulated her! She called me afterwards and was extrememly stressed out. Spent the rest of her time with younger children, though, and really liked that. She's a little worried that working with these kids who have so many problems and such sad histories in many cases will really bring out her tendency for depression. I told her that it could, of course, but that hopefully, she will find that working with them and actually feeling that she is making things better for them will turn out to be very fulfilling for her. She's not sure, but she thinks that if she works full time at this job for at least a year, she will be able to have some of her college loans cancelled. That would be really nice.
My son came for a couple of days this week. He had planned on doing all sorts of stuff around here but started on the Harry Potter books instead and didn't get all that much done, lol. It's always nice to see him, though. He's in fairly good spirits, all things considered.
Well, I have a kitchen to clean up. It's amazing to me how messy it can get during the week with only me here to mess it up.

Just have to say it warms my heart when I "hear" you speak about Zana and your son. You have such a wonderful loving family.
After a month or two Zana may not be quite so stressed. After all, a new job, new people, complete change in daily routine would stress most anyone. She is going to make a difference in these young peoples lives. You must be so proud to be her mom.
As for dishes, in my house they just seem to migrate from the cupboard to the sink. LOL Kind of like socks lose their sole mate in the washer.
