Finally have the house back to myself!

Frank's kids are good kids, but they're back in FL, and I have my house back! They have been here for a full month, so the state of the house is not good, seeing how Frank was pretty much in charge. I am still unable to do much housework like vacuuming, etc. At least now that they're gone, I can resume doing a few things...like getting my kitchen back in order. Things are just not where they're supposed to be! And he kind of gives everything just a lick and a promise, if you know what I mean. It was just too hard to keep up with all that with 3 kids underfoot and me hobbling around, so Frank was in charge, bless him, he tries. For instance, he vacuumed yesterday, which I appreciated, but he didn't do the hall, where two cat hairballs have been for I swear 2 weeks. He must see them everytime he walks in there. I'm not even supposed to pick up stuff (no bending) and my reacher won't grab them, I've tried.
Oh, well, I digress...anyway, not having been anywhere for a month except to phys therapy, I begged him to take me for a drive yesterday. We ended up in northern Idaho, Sandpoint. It was lovely, especially Lake Pend Oreille, although a bit hazy from some fires going on in the panhandle. We had a huckleberry milkshake, the highlight of my day.
Tonight we're going to a baseball game, my first of the season, of course. It's just the local single-A farm team for the Rangers. It'll be fun...they're having fireworks afterwards.
Have enjoyed all the posts this morning as I've tried to catch up. Bern, good post. Deb, glad you're safely in TX. Welcome to all the newbies.
I'll catch you all later.

be back in order eventually. Have a fun time at the
game, and I'm glad you are taking it easy on the new
hip. By September we'll have good young Red back
at 100 percent!!
love,
Cindy

Your getting there, day by day. Don't forget, we have a walk to do together. Must be nice to have the house "back" again although it could get to quiet also.
The ride does sound lovely. Have to ask tho, just what is a huckleberry?

Rain
When I was a kid, we used to go with another family right up onto Mt. St. Helens and pick them. Oh, it takes forever to get a bucketful! There's a joke that goes around these parts that the loneliest sound in the world is that of the first huckleberry hitting the bottom of the bucket! LOL!

Also having the kids gone now will make things not seem so bad. Hey tell Frank about the hairballs and I bet he will pick them up. Men can sometimes just be blind to those type of things really they can. I found it is just better to ask them to do it than wait until you explode because they haven't done it.
Take good care

You sound good, Red! Glad you're back in the swing of things. We too have a minor league team, the Dayton Dragons, would love to go to a game but it's almost impossible to get tickets. Several of the players have made it to the Reds' lineup! Proud of 'em!!
Enjoy the peace and quiet! Hugs, Pam
