I told some of you in chat on Friday that I had visited my Aunt Thursday. She had not been well and was in a nursing home "temporarily" to try to regain her strength. She was not eating and so weak that she couldn't even get up anymore. My uncle could not take care of her that way even though they had in home health care. She passed away this morning. Her family had taken her home on Saturday to spend time with all of them, and had taken her to have her hair done (this is a big thing for her, she had her hair done every week almost her whole life and it had a been a month). They brought her back to the nursing home last night, and she passed this morning. I hate to say it but I think she just gave up, thinking she was going to have to stay there permanently. I am just so thankful I got to see her, it had been a couple of years. Please keep Aunt Joanne's family in your prayers. Thank you. Charlie

Thanks you Cindy, I appreciate you prayers. I haven't talked to my cousins yet (one of them called my sister), but they did say how much she enjoyed our visit, I'm so glad I went. Charlie

Thanks, Lor. I was a long drive, but well worth it. I too wish I could have had more time with her. Seems everyones lives are so busy. We need to remember to take the time out for family. Charlie

True Sara, she really didn't want to be there. The plan was for her to do rehab and get strong enough to go back home, but I think she felt she was not going to make it. She's much happier now, I'm sure. Charlie

Thanks, Mare, I think you may be right. She started developing parkinsons 8 years ago. Though she never had the shaking symptom, I think it took alot out of her. She had lost alot of weight and just had no strength. I appreciate you thoughts. Charlie

Kat, I know what you mean. She did not want to be in the nursing home, even for the few weeks that she was there for rehab. I think she just gave up, but at least she didn't suffer. My uncle could no longer care for her as she was and she would have been miserable in the home. We will all miss her, but know she's in a better place. Charlie

Thanks, Gabby. If you knew her, you would know that having her hair done was probably the nicest thing they could do for her. Even when I visited she complained that it looked terrible. Of course, I disagreed, lol. I'm just glad all her children were able to be with her. My one cousing had to drive 10 hrs to get there. Thank you for your prayers. Charlie

Oh Free, I never thought of it that way. What a great thought. Yes, I'm sure she looked her best. Thank you, Charlie

Thank you Rain, that's so true, and even though I got to see her, there are regrets that I didin't see her more often. Will have to rectify that with the rest of the family. Charlie

Thanks, Red. I appreciate your thoughts. I is hard to see them go. But then, as my sister said, she's now with her sister (my mom) and their parents. A nice thought, huh? Charlie
