DH and I thinking about doing Dr. Atkins's ...again...we did it 30 years ago and worked extremely well. We would both like to loose 20 lbs, but would like to hear from anyone whose tried it.....and what they thought of it.......reading his newest book, it sure makes a lot of sense to me??!!!

I have such a hard time following a diet that doesn't give you enough carbs. I do love my carbs, but I know the protein burns up fat faster. Good luck if you do the diet, I'm sure you'll do well. By the way...I don't have an email address for you since you didn't fill out a profile. Barb, I wanted to tell you I love the fun questions you ask, but could you please put them under "fun and games", since the "Question of The Week" area was set up just for the one QOTW....thanks sweetie. Hugs, Gabby

Morning Barb

Well I have never tried the Atkins diet. Never really needed a diet until this year when I quit smoking and have the weight I gained to get off. I have never been able to stick to an organized diet plan very well I guess I am just way to picky of an eater. So I do mosty vegetarian when I really want to lose weight. So far so good but it sure is slow now that I am over 50.

Good luck I hear lots of people that stick to the diet it really works for them. Let us know what you decide and how it works for you

Hugs

Mary

Hi.

My SO and I are about to start it, too. Actually, we're going to wait until we return from vacation later this month. I have great hopes that it will work well. My SO's brothers have all done it and look great as has one of the wives. The man we bought our cars from has done exceptionally well. The new clinical trials point to it being a proven fat reducer. The trick to keeping the weight off is finding how many grams of carb you can eat a day without gaining once the weight comes off.

Good luck!
