SAME SEX MARRIAGE....HOW DO YOU FEEL?

Well the place that I work does mostly weddings, worked hundreds of them. Today we got into the "big" discussion about same sex marriages. Now that it is legal in Canada they feel it's just a matter of time before we have some at our place of business. Being that I work in a Military ( MOSTLY MALE) environment every one is up in arms about this.

Being one of the senior people there I put in my two cents worth which was not received very well.

My philosophy is why can't a man love another man, or visa versa. If it brings you happiness and is not hurting anyone does it really matter if you love someone who is the same sex???. I just don't understand why people are so against it, I mean their not causing anyone else any harm, and just want to love...who they love.

So I could go on, but you see where I stand, I was just wondering how you other ladies felt about this, I would be interested in hearing any one else's opinion.

As far as I'm concerned love is love. If you find someone you want to share your life with and are willing to commit to that relationship, I see no reason why the people involved can't marry. Some of the most loving couples I know are gay. Some of the least loving couples I know are heterosexual.

This may get me in big trouble with some people, but I say that God is loving (rather than angry and punitive) and wants people to love each other and be happy together. If the person you love is of the same sex and they love you in return, then so be it. I don't believe that God would want me to think negatively of anyone who has found a truly loving relationship.

Males and females can do what they choose,

but I have made sure that my kids learned

the different views.

Such as the way God would have it, with

scriptural back up,

and the way that the "world" would have it.

To tolerate with love, and to choose

wisely between the two views.

Just love your response, thanks so much for agreeing with my stand, not too many people do...and isn't it sad that most think we all have to fit into a little mind set of everyone else. Glad to see some of you are liberal thinkers and realize "life is too short"...not to be completely happy with the right partner...

I may be opening a can of worms here, but I'm sorry, I do not agree with same sex marriage. That's not to say I don't sympathize with gay people. My cousin is gay and I love him dearly, I some co-workers that are gay, but God did not intend for sam sex unions. If He had, why would there be two sexes???? I understand they're trying to get benefits, etc, etc. This world is becoming such a mess, and alot of it has to do with everyone doing their own thing and not worrying about any consequences. It is not my place to judge, but I don't believe I should pay taxes, to support something I totally do not believe in. I hope I'm not going to get kicked off the board for this one. Charlie, you have good points. And don't worry, because

the question was asked, and we to answer.

Now its time for silly, fun questions!!

love,

Cindy

I agree with you Charlie...the 'Do your own thing' mentality sends all the wrong messages to today's youth. Since I grew up as part of that generation I was also part of the problem. We have lost something very precious in this country...the innocence of our children. Now it's time we step-up and stand-up for a few morals and ethics that have been ignored far too long. So open that can of worms! Somebody needs to.

Char, I respect ya....but want to answer this one.

In my opinion, and many other people's opinons, it is not

about what we personally believe but about equal rights to

each individual....even those that do not believe as we do.

You have a right to your opinion. Not trying to take that

away from you. Also don't want to take it away from anyone else...

or take away equal rights from anyone else.

We are not here to judge. God said we should not judge lest we

be judged.
