my brain and can't get rid of it or remember all the words....just a few words and a neverending tune running over and over and over again in my poor brain. Does anyone know the words?

"I'm a little (something, something, something) in the water. A little (something, something, something) that I ought to. (Something, something somethig) on a lily pad. The little (something something, something) I'm glad."

It goes on and on, forever, and I can't remember it or get rid of it! I'm about ready to have dh dig out his accordion and play "Lady of Spain" or even "Small World" just to get this darn song out of my head! I'm desperate! LOL

Oh great, now I have "Lady Of Spain" tearing around in MY brain! Don't know what song your little verse belongs to....but, it made me smile. Actually, the "something, something, something" made me laugh. I somehow get the feeling Mindy will come along and fill in the blanks and make a dirty ditty out of it! Not to worry Jan...if you're like me you'll wake up in the middle of the night with the correct answer thundering through your head. Now, let us know when you get the answer. Hugs! Kay

Jan such a dilema you have there... Well afraid I am not of any help here either.. Heck I have a hard time remembering half the songs I grew up with... and even when I used to know them quite well. But now I am going on singing "a little something something something" and the kids are beginning to whisper behind my back... think they are thinking of taking me a way... far away? LoL

Hope that someone gives you the song words and soon... would hate to see you singing "small world" over and over again.

Hugs, Lor

I Know it, I know it...I'm a little green frog sittin' in the water, a little green frog doin' what he oughta. I jumped up on the lilly pad and said ribit and that means I'm glad...I'm a little green frog sittin' in the water Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit.

You are right there are about a hundred verses!

Hugs

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!! I knew someone involved with either kids or music (Sooze, where are you????) would know! And yes, it goes on for many, many verses, using just about every critter one would find in or around a pond. ;-P

Jan,

Just got home and got to the board! PLEASE do NOT start singing "Small World"......forget it...too late....its in my head now!

I see that RJ tried to help you with the song.........thats close, but here is the whole thing!!

There's a little white duck, sittin in the water, little white duck, doin what he oughter. He took a bite of a lily pad, flapped his wings and he said, "I'm glad I'm a little white duck, sittin in the water, Quack, Quack, Quack!

There's a little green frog, swimmin in the water, a little green frog, doin what he oughter, He jumped right off of the lily pad that the little duck bit and he said, "I'm glad I'm a little green frog, swimmin in the water, Glumph, Glumph, Glumph!"

There's a little black bug, floatin on the water, a little black bug, doin what he oughter, He tickled the frog on the lily pad that the little duck bit and he said, "I'm glad I'm a little black bug floatin on the water, Chir, Chir, Chir!"

There's a little red snake, flyin in the water, a little red snake, doin what he oughter. He frightened the duck and the frog so bad, ate the little black bug and he said, "I'm glad I'm a little red snake, flyin in the water, Hiss, Hiss, Hiss!"

Now there's nobody left sittin in the water, nobody left, doin what he oughter. There's nothin' left but the lily pad. The duck and the frog ran away...it's sad! Now there's nobody left sittin in the water, Boo Hoo Hoo!

Unfortunately my mind is full of trivia such as this!!! LOL!!! Now you can sing to your heart's content and I will try valiantly to FORGET "Its a small world after all....

Hugs, Sooze

Sooze,

Now, I remember that song. Thanks for the words to it. I will teach it to the little ones here.

Take care,

Rain

Oh, thanks sooooo much, Sooze!! I thought there was something about a duck in there! RJ reminded me about the frog, and now I have the whole song, so will print it out in case I ever need it again! LOL

Sorry about "Small World". That must be about the most annoying song ever written! Once it gets in your brain it's almost impossible to get it out! LOL
