Has been a difficult couple of weeks here...dh was told he has prostate cancer. This is a man who has diabetes, High BP, high Ch, has had a stroke, has RA, and for the most part is positive. Now this...We have been a bit down around here. He is going in in Sept and have the prostate gland removed. Actually we are both doing better...after the first evening...he was sad, angry, depressed...Finally told him..after tonight NO MORE...we will deal with this and get it behind us. He also talked to a co worker who had his removed 4 years ago and he was real positive...That helped

So have been hibernating trying to deal with it myself...

More bad news...Ds in Iraq will probably be there 10-12 months. He is taking it hard but have been trying to keep his spirits up too.

So has been a couple of trying weeks

Hugs

RJ

RJ,

Sending hugs and positive thoughts. id your dh would like some online support, there is a prostrate surviviors chat in the net. I know it's on Monday nights and could find out the where from a friend. He had prostrate cancer and is doing fine now. No signs of it at all.

Keeping you and your family in my prayers.

Rain

PS...Have a terrific birthday RJ.

I am so sorry, RJ. You've had more than your share of troubles. I believe that's one cancer that is curable if caught in time so that is a plus. My heart breaks for you to hear your ds has to stay so much longer. It has to be hard on them to keep up morale. Is it time for another barrage of care packages?

MY thoughts are with you. Hang in there.

Many hugs, Darby

RJ ((((((Hugs))))), and sending up prayers for

you and DH.

I'm gonna believe that your husband is going to be a

survivor like the others. No sense in

worrying too much for now.

My son's brain tumor is ominous, but we

have alot of hope that that's the most

it will ever be. That through skillful

doctors guided by God, or just supernaturally,

his tumor will get smaller. No time to be negative yet.

Please let us know how things go, as we do care alot.

Also, so sorry about your son having to stay there longer.

I really feel for your whole family.

I will keep praying for you and yours, RJ.

love,

Cindy

Oh, RJ, I'm so sorry. Your poor dh has had so much to handle and now this! I understand about hibernating for a while, sometimes you just have to draw inward and get a grip on things, then you can rejoin the human race again. But keep your chins up, both of you! This is a very survivable disease if treated agressively. Let us know when the surgery is, please. We'll be thinking of you both!

About your ds, Sarah has an internet friend who is over there too, he's an MP, and he just found out the same thing. Won't be back here until maybe March. He says the food is yucky there, he liked it better in Bosnia! Now what does that tell you about Bagdhad?? LOL! Hang in there, sister, prayers are going out to both of your guys!

Love and big hugs, Pam

Gosh, RJ, when it rains it pours, doesn't it? My ex-father-in-law had prostate surgery years ago and he's been fine ever since. I hope you find comfort in everyone's encouraging stories. I'm sure it's still tough not to worry, though.

So sorry about DS having to stay longer in Iraq. Must be so disheartening for him. I'm sure it must be unbearably hot and tiring. And worrisome for you, too.

Well, we're all here for ya, girl. Please keep in touch, ok?

Hugs,

Red

Well RJ, can't fault you and Dave for being down. Good heavens, what a lot the two of you and the rest of your family has had to deal with lately! It seems no matter how positive one remains in the face of the word "cancer", that little niggling finger of fear has a way of creeping into your thoughts. I totally understand your need to hibernate while you digest the news, his feelings, your feelings and the future. After meeting both you and Dave I feel you're both up to the challenge of getting through this while remaining strong for each other. And you will get through it. Please tell him that Bob and I are sending him mental support. And of course, you will be very much in my thoughts.

I'm sorry to hear your son has to remain in Iraq for so long. That sucks. But, once your family has all the icky stuff out of the way than you can move on to a grand future, don't you think? Seriously RJ, I'm wishing you and yours nothing but the best and relaying lots of positive thoughts to you. ((((firm embrace)))) Kay

RJ no wonder you have not felt like being on the puter. You sure have had a bumpy road to travel for the last few months. So sorry to hear about your husband. I think all the emotions you both went through were normal. Now you can get on with what is ahead. I do know that is one of the most curable cancers there is so keep thinking positive. You will be in my daily thoughts. Please take care of you along the way.

Hugs, Ruthie
