If I still had a smashing figure I would. Well, maybe a modified low-cut. Oh heck, probably not 'cause even if I had the figure to wear one and did, I'd embarrass my grandkids. Embarrassing their mothers was just fun, but not my dear grandchildren.
However, in the early 70's I had this very slinky, black velvet dress with a gold & rhinestone braid that decorated the neckline that plunged halfway to my belly button. Loved that dress! However, even in peak condition I just couldn't bare that much skin so I always wore it with a safety pin holding that deep "V" together about halfway up. But, I did wear it with a push up bra...straight from Fredricks of Hollywood...and that definitely put a bit of a strut in my swagger! You see, being one of those people that wasn't terribly blessed in the upper region because of the family gene pool I splashed around in, that clevage went right to my head! To this day I can always get my roommates attention by just casualing asking, "Do you remember that black velvet dress I used to have?" The man was a sucker for velvet! LOL! Hugs! Kay

love,
Now as for your roomy.. I hte to say this but I am betting it was not the velvet he was a sucker for but what it revealed.
my dh bought me this blue very low cut dress for an Xmas party we were to go to.. when I put it on, my chest ( not the rest of me) looked like Dolly P and there was absolutly no way I would wear that.. it has sat in my closet for about 5 years or more.. and no I wont get rid of it, just wont wear it... I have to hang on to it to remind him what NOT to buy me.
Now if I had a svelt bod and all that should be pointing up and out was then I would say heck for sure!
Hugs, Lor
Well now because I don't need a push up bra and never have due to my gene pool, I guess the answer would be no I would not wear a push up bra. I have always been a bit shy about my breast and usually keep them pretty well covered up. However I do have a dress that is red and is rather low cut that I have worn on a cruise. Getting a little bolder in my old age I guess. My dh of course loves it but I usually get very tired of men never looking at my chest and never getting above there.
I do remember this last cruise I went on though I left that dress at home because I felt it would make me feel like an old lady trying to dress younger than she should. That body I once had is long gone.

However when Mike and I started to date my innerself came out and the necklines went down.
Can you believe I used to wear hiphuggers and those tops that tied right under the braline? We used to party a lot and I bought a lot of low, dippity-do, dresses. Then came the zipper scar, age, and extra weight so no way now. But oh I did have fun then!
Would do it again if I could and was younger.
Hugs, Ruthie
Di, you're lucky...with your figure you could wear a dress with a neckline cut down to your toenails and look good. You wouldn't have to even think of wasting time on a pushup bra. I'll trade figures with you any day of the week!
Now, stick around....there could be more really stupid questions ahead! Hugs! Kay
Funny, but the dress I mentioned was also for a Xmas party. And I think the only times I wore it after that were to more Xmas gatherings! Had the hem up and down on that so many times I think the bottom half of that dress almost fell off. But, never did get rid of that safety pin. LOL! Hugs! Kay
Next cruise, I say take that dress with you. You're not to old to wear red OR low-cut. And probably the drooling Jim would do would make it worth it for you. Heck with anyone else. Hugs! Kay
