i was a very shy young blonde girl on my first computer, not knowing exacty what i was looking for.but after a while of searching the world wide web my broswer brought me to this a site.it was ivillage 43-59 board, where at first apprehensive,i began to fit in with all the wonderful gals that were posting here.we all had so much in common, marriage, children, divorces, pms, perimeno, menopause, life and death issues, cooking not cooking, laughing, crying, controversies, some without, some with, some just struggling to live and maintain their sanity in an ever changing world, and little did i know that my world would also change after that first post.did i stop, this shy, scared, little blonde from wisconsin.h-ell no,i kept posting.just how has this computer and all of you changed my life, well i think that is evident.i began to meet some of you,my first was bren, she invited me into her life and when mal was born she considered me a part of her family, where she shared, the heartache of malls journey thru her first months of life.next was kaci,my neighbor in wisconsin, who shared with all of us,the wonderful supportive family she has,and darb,a wonderful sweet lady,a gardner and traveler extrodinare.i got to see her gardens and partake of a tea at her home where i met kat,jan and judy.three of the most rowdy gals ya ever wanted to meet!!LOL mr.dick got to come along, cause he is my chauffeur!!next were kay and bob, from south dakota,a couple that we got to know and enjoy their company.they fit rite in and became a part of our home and family and are welcome here anytime.then it was on to madison where i met rain,a gal who likes to say what her heart feels.recently mr.dick and i ended up in napeville, where i got to have lunch with mare from az,and even though,mr.dick was ready to leave me there,LOL,we all had such a great time, walking on the riverwalk, talking about plans and enjoying a nice lunch at egg harbour.
i have not only got to meet some of you,but some of you have invited me into your lives, via emails and pics of your family and beloved pets.i have learned to read again,i have begun to write again,i have traveled outside the boundries of what i call my safety net, home.yes changes for the good have come out of this board for many of us,but along the way,as in life, there are also problems.its like sex, when the fireworks stop and the excitment wears off,the newness dies and life takes over, hardwork begins to set the rhymn back in motion and thru patience, tolerance, compassion, and forgiveness it will be an easy task.and i know that all of you no matter what controversies crop up,no matter whos feelings have been hurt,no matter who has been talked about, this board will still be the best d-amn board to come on,a place where we still can laugh, cry, rant and rave,a place where we have come to know, respect and love each other, for who we are,and not what others think we should be.we are all different, large small tall and short.some with gray hair, some with browne hair some natural blondes!! i have wanted to quit many times but something keeps pulling me back here, and i know what it is.its the power of all of you,the chance to enjoy the difference in each person and the promise of meeting again.
so to you gals i lift my cup of coffee and say thank you sooooooooooo much, for making my life alot better!! viva la difference!! (((hugs)))mindy

What a heartwarming and true story of friendship
on this board.
Cheers!
Love & Hugs, Sara
I agree about coming back to this board. It's the people that are the magnet (not the controversies LOL). I've been fortunate to have met 19 of you in person and plan on meeting more soon. We've been through a lot of sad and happy times together so even though I rarely get here, it always feels like home (maybe with some redecorating but home none the less.LOL)
Thanks for a great essay, Min!!!
Many hugs, Darb
meet! :)))
And, no...we aren't even *gay*.
BIG HUGS! Sarafita
