Get your minds out of the gutter, ladies. I have started loosing weitht, BUT it is so hard not to snack on the wrong things. We took everything wrong out of the house and replaced them with healthy food to eat, but I still eat too much.

Bill & I are walking almost every night, grocery shopping lasts twice as long with us both looking at lables. Sept 6 we both go to a class on diabetes and I guess I'm on my way to a different way of life. I think the hardest thing to do will be wearing shoes all the time. I hate shoes and even garden bare-foot. Oh supporters, please help me be strong. Love and BIG HUGS. ..Free

Free, hang in there, girlfriend! Actually, I think you should be pretty darn proud of yourself! You are making very good choices, are taking charge by going to classes, doing the task of SERIOUS grocery shopping, took all the "bad" stuff out of the kitchen...you are on the right road.

But like me, you sound like a perfectionist! I might be wrong, but I know how I am! LOL! I tend to look at things like if I don't do them perfectly, then I failed. Now my mind knows that that is not right, but hey, does that stop me from beating myself up..heck no! What gals like us need to do is write up a list of all the things we ARE doing right and bask in the knowledge that we ARE making progress. Changes in lifestyles are NOT EASY, we are people of habit. And changes like we are trying to make TAKE TIME!

So give yourself a break, pat yourself on the back, and keep up the good work! HEY, did you find that magazine Light & Tasty? I buy it at the supermarket and it sure helps me a lot. Let me know, OK?

Thanks Rain for your support. My father had it also but I'm hoping it's weight related for me. Easier to get rid of it. I do hope that you don't get diabetes along with your many cousins. I don't know why so many of us see what may happen but still think it won't happen to us. Love and BIG HUGS. ..Free

Free, I must have missed something. I realize you have diabetes so you have to diet and exercise. What is this about having to wear shoes? Is that something to do with the diabetes also? You can do this, and at least dh is right there with you. It's much easier with a buddy and you have the best one. I'll be thinking of you. Charlie

Free, you have done some very positive things already on your way to good health. Now, just don't be so hard on yourself, and try not to make tooooo many changes at once. That's too difficult. I'm glad you are going to the classes soon. You'll learn alot about adapting to the new way of life.

Many hugs,

Red

Free just keep thinking its all worth it. When it gets too bad put some really funky music on and danced your arse off:) Believe it or not dancing will help increase the ceratonin levels and boost your mood:) Please know Mac and I are in your same shoes with life altering changes due to Mac's health. Its not easy, and he is fighting me tooth and nail, but we are doing it:) Would you believe since he hates walking with me he bought a treadmill! I bought a new indoor weight system so I can work out again. Since moving here I had to get rid of mine b/c of space and since we are moving to a bigger house got another one. I love how I feel after working thoses muscles:) Trust me, when you do strength training and begin changing fat into muscles the weight goes away much faster b/c muscles burn more calories.

I know you can do this and suppot you all the way. Love, Bernie
Hugs, Bernie
