I need a hug!

I am feeling so totally overwhelmed right now. My garage is a mess...everything shoved to one end so that you can't walk around down there. The other end is a construction zone, partially built, partially painted. My kitchen is a disaster area. I've started taking kitchen cabinets down which not only makes it so that all the things that were in the cabinets are now piled in other places, but also, I'm having to face all that black moldy stuff behind them. The bathroom is falling apart too. And on top of all that, the dogs knocked a hole in the fence in one spot and dug a hole under the fence in another. So instead of coming home after work and relaxing a bit, I was out there stapling chicken wire along the section of fence they dug under. It probably won't do any good. Now that they've realized the effect of actually making the hole go from one side of the fence to the other, they'll probably do it anywhere along there. It doesn't help that the fence is totally rotting away and a small kitten could knock the fence pieces off by rubbing against them. Boy, some days I just feel like everything is falling apart around me and I can't even begin to catch up, much less get ahead. I'm feeling very sorry for myself today!

Adding a few more hugs (((Kat))). Maybe just for a day you should try to ignore it all and take a nice relaxing bath and then tackle the most important (in your mind). The others are right, you need to just take it one thing at a time. It sure sounds overwhelming, but you can do this. You come back anytime you want to vent, and seek comfort, we're here for you. Just wish we could the "there" for you. Take care, Charlie

Here are several hugs for ya, Kat! Gosh, you have a lot going on. No wonder you feel overwhelmed! Just keep chipping away. You can only do one thing at a time. I do think of you as a WonderWoman, but I still think you can only do one of these tasks at a time, right?

Can Z or your son come help you out this weekend?

Hugs,

Red

Sending hugs, as I know what you're feeling! I remember my kitchen remodel, with the stove, fridge, and all the cabinet stuff stuck in boxes in the living room and the microwave in the hall. Not fun!! Just hang in there, take one thing at a time, and it will soon all come together!

If all else fails, maybe I can talk "the dreaded cousins" into a road trip! LOL

Holy moly Kat! This would bring a lesser woman to her knees, but you, my dear, are a super woman and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I am constantly amazed at you -from walking home in the dark and falling in the ditch, turning your home into an aviary for homeless birds, taking in abandoned animals, heading off to New Guinea to help others to traveling the USA with a pup tent and a jar of peanut butter. You are my idea of a strong, independent woman. I would never even attempt half the things you do.

((((((Kat)))))) Now everybody has their down days and from your description, things are looking kind of dark right now so I think you should just take a day or two and just GO TO BED. Buy some good chocolate and a trashy book and just lay in bed. You deserve it, sweetie. I wish I could help you - I'm not very good with a hammer, but I'm a great....., nah, I'm not a great anything and you're probably better off I'm not there come to think about it. What about Zana? Can she help you? They make that anti-mildew paint now. I wonder if you washed the kitchen walls with bleach and then painted them with that it would help?

Anyway, I'm with you all the way! Take care and I'm sending you all the positive vibrations I can muster.

Thanks for the vibes, Eldri. I bleached the dickens out of the kitchen walls and they did turn light again. But that sheetrock is shot so it's going to have to come down anyway. Another project...but not for now!

Thanks, Kathie. I know that things are hectic there for you too. I don't know about you, but I'd had every intention of living a life of ease by the time I was this age. Hmmm.

I am sending out serious hints to my son. I could use some muscle here for sure! Z just started a new job and they tend to call her in at night, so she is having some stuff to get used to herself...like not being able to sleep during the day even when she's been up all night. I can tell already...it's going to be a seriously busy week-end here!

Believe me, Charlie, you wouldn't want to be here. It's a mess. And there's no place to sit because all the chairs are covered with food from the cupboards! "One thing at a time"...that's become my mantra.
