I need a hug!

I am feeling so totally overwhelmed right now. My garage is a mess...everything shoved to one end so that you can't walk around down there. The other end is a construction zone, partially built, partially painted. My kitchen is a disaster area. I've started taking kitchen cabinets down which not only makes it so that all the things that were in the cabinets are now piled in other places, but also, I'm having to face all that black moldy stuff behind them. The bathroom is falling apart too. And on top of all that, the dogs knocked a hole in the fence in one spot and dug a hole under the fence in another. So instead of coming home after work and relaxing a bit, I was out there stapling chicken wire along the section of fence they dug under. It probably won't do any good. Now that they've realized the effect of actually making the hole go from one side of the fence to the other, they'll probably do it anywhere along there. It doesn't help that the fence is totally rotting away and a small kitten could knock the fence pieces off by rubbing against them. Boy, some days I just feel like everything is falling apart around me and I can't even begin to catch up, much less get ahead. I'm feeling very sorry for myself today!

That is good advice, Lor, and I've been trying to do that. The only problem is...I'm afraid if I only take one thing at a time, I won't get them all done until I'm about 102. I plan to live an active life to a rip old age, but I was thinking about things like cruises, gentle road trips, that sort of thing...not sheetrock mud and battered cabinets. (sigh)

Ok, ok...one at a time!

Why didn't I think of that??? A cosmo! That would definitely make things better...not so productive probably, but I wouldn't care then anyway! LOL

Thanks, Darby.

It's not one of those fancy remodeling jobs like you see in the magazines...just trying to fix some bad problems caused mostly by a big roof leak this last winter. Every time I start working on one thing though, three others crop up that are connected to it. I should have just burned the house to the ground and started fresh!

Free, last winter when it was raining so much, I had a really bad leak in the roof. My kitchen ceiling caved in and there was water running down the walls. You can imagine the condition they are in. Add to that the fact that my kitchen cabinets are horrible particle board ones covered in fake wood vinyl stuff...well, you can see why I'm anzious to get rid of them. Bit by bit it will get done...I hope.

Between your big strapping man and Darby's cosmo, I can see that this whole job has a lot of potential. Okay, one step at a time. Shouldn't take me more than 12-13 years. Aaarrrrgghhhh!

Pepper is a good idea...although Rosie might like it. She eats anything! Thanks, though...I'll try that.

It's all one big bother, Gabby. My first desire is to get the kitchen cabinet up in the garage. I was going to do that tonight but turns out it's too heavy for me to slide on the floor, much less pick up and attach to the wall. Maybe I can comandeer the hefty young man next door to help.
