My boss was gone for a week and

I'll have to say...work is a lot easier when the docs aren't there! LOL I went in, at least for a little bit, each day but it was so nice to be able to just take my time and plow through stuff until it was done...and then leave! One day Zana and I drove up to Portland to check out the school she thinks she would like to apply to for its Master's program. I really enjoyed it...more than she did, I think. She gets nervous about making changes, moving, leaving friends, that sort of thing. But it will be at least a year. A lot can happen in that time. My son, Joe drove over on Tuesday, spent the night and then headed off to San Diego with his little car packed to the gills. His divorce has met some snags but in the meantime, he decided he needed to get out of Oregon. Everything here reminds him of Byron. Hopefully, he will be able to activate his massage therapy license down there and start working. He was excited about making the change and moving on. He and Zana are so different in everything they do.

I have been slowly working on the room in the garage and tearing down the kitchen. The piles of tree branches are very slowly going down, although I can see a difference. If I put in a few good solid hours this week-end, the difference should be really noticeable. I'm hoping to have them all chipped up by the middle of September. That's my goal. In the meantime, the gardens are struggling along. I try to keep them watered...we have been getting practically NO rain all summer...VERY unusual...but have not had time to do much of anything else. I wish I could clone myself. I think four of me would be good...one to be in charge of cleaning up the house, one to stick with the yard and gardens, one to do all the hard work (chipping branches, building fences, tearing down cabinets, etc), and then one who could concentrate on taking baths and reading long books. I guess I'd better make a 5th one...one to go off to work and support the rest of us.

I've also been trying to finish a mirror frame for Zana. She wanted a sparkly one and it is definitely sparkly!

I have some catching up to do and am not sure what is going on with everyone right now. I hope this is a good week for all of you.

Sounds like things are coming right along at your house. I wish Joe luck in San Diego and in activating his massage therapy license. Zana seems to know what she wants also, I wish her well, give her a hug when you see her...thanks! Love ya, Gabby

Now Kat, cloning oneself like that sounds good to me. Of course I myself, the real one. would be the one who took good care of herself...bubble baths, days at the spa, massages, manicures, pedicures, sipping wine (oops, no wind for me, diet coke instead). You really deserve a break, any in sight? Good luck to your ds and safe trip. Love and BIG HUGS. ..Free

Kat, I'm glad you were able to have an easy week at work. You sure needed it after last week. I know you still have alot to do at home, but sounds like things are going a little better. Good luck to both Zana and Joe, sounds like you have two great kids there. Joe sounds like my dd, the week after she graduation from college, she packed her car and headed to San Diego. Still there, and doing pretty well. So good luck to Joe. If you can't find a way to clone yourself, I think you should make sure to take that relaxing bubble bath anyway. (((hugs))) Charlie

Good luck with the cloning. Don't think I could stand another one of me! Nor is the world ready! LOL

I wish I could come and help you with your gardens at least. Maybe if my ds ever moves out that way I'll do that!

I'm glad your ds is starting a new life. I wish him well. My ds is living proof that there is happiness after divorce. I hope Joe finds it soon!

Hugs, Darby

Kat, what was that Michael Keaton movie where he cloned himself? Oh! Multiplicity! That's what you need to do! Glad the projects are getting done, I know it feels so much better when you can see progress.

Know what you mean about the kids' personalities. My ds is like your Zana, dd is like your son, Fearless Fosdick!! I'm sure it has something to do with birth order, BTW that's an interesting book to read, The Birth Order Book is the title. Gives lots of insight on your relationships.

Take care and have a productive weekend, but take time out to smell the roses!!

Hugs, Pam

Kat it sounds like as usual you have a lot of things going on all at once. I hope you ds will like San Deigo and thing will work out for him there. Zana will be fine when the time comes for her to decide where she wants to go for her masters.

Good luck getting those clones done in time to help you get it all done this weekend. LOL

Hugs and Love

Wow Kat,

Slow down lady! One thing you don't have to worry about and thats grass. You sure aren't letting any grow under your feet.

Are you going to put in new cabinets? Redoing the entire kitchen? Sounds like a large project but then the yard and everything are also.

The mirror frames you do sound pretty. Wouldn't happen to have pix would you?

Sending positive vibes to Zana and your son. May their futures hold all they desire. I wish the same for you Kat if you ever find the time to soak them in.

Hugs,

Rain

Kat you are sort of like my dh... stretch yourself right to the limits. I think the first one of you that you could use would be the take bath and read books you... Yep that is what you need a break from working so darn hard.

I bet you will feel such a great feeling of accomplishment when the branches are all done with.

I can understand Zana feeling a little apprehensive about taking the plunge and moving.... good thing she has a year to think on it.

Take care and have a great weekend!

Hugs, Lor

You're SOOO right Kat...you definitely need 4 more of you. Always so much going on for you to take care of. I always wanted a clone, too. But that was just when I worked outside the home. Now 1 of me has just enough to do to keep me out of trouble!

Think we got some Oregon weather this month. We've had 3 days with rain! It can happen in August in CA but seldom does. We really had a great T-storm Thursday into Friday....lots of thunder and lightning. Fortunately no forest fires were started by the lightning. The rain was wonderful. I got to turn off the sprinkler system for a few days.

It's important that you take that bubble bath and read a book. You need & deserve that! Hugs!
