Hey everybody! Haven't "seen" you for a long time! I don't even bother trying to log on at home many days because my poor 'puter is really feeling its age! So s-l-o-w! But I do manage to get on at least once a day here at work and see if anything earth-shattering is going on here.

I'm still just doing the same 'ol routine: working, babysitting, laundry, etc. My biggest thrill is seeing my resident hummer being a pig at my feeder. I can't believe how much they suck that nectar down! It's been so cold, they must really need the fuel!

I do have one other thrill to mention. DD #1 (Hunter's mom) is engaged! Her BF of 2 years finally popped the question! He's such a wonderful catch! Very well-educated, good job, good family, fun... AND most importantly, HE ADORES HUNTER!!! And vice versa. He will be such a good Dad to him.

They have planned a Vegas wedding in April ...Jeff just didn't want anything fancy, and Rae doesn't care...she just wants him! So...Frank and I are planning a nice reception for them when they come back. It will be nice, but not too fancy at The Aero Club, a reception room above a memorial to a local pilot who went MIA in Viet Nam. It's so cool, the ceiling fans are airplane propellors painted like they do the warplanes, you know, with the shark teeth, etc. It's not huge; we only expect 50 or so people. I've never met his mother; this will be the first time.

I'm very, very happy for my DD. She deserves to be happy; she has struggled as a single mom for more than 5 years, and she has really done a good job given the special needs. Even though she's struggled financially at times, she's been mature with her money and Hunter always looks impeccable and well cared for. I'm very proud of her, and Jeff says that was an important impression she made on him from the beginning.

Anyhoo, I should get back to work here. The only other news I have coming is that Frank and I have planned a vacation down to watch Spring Training in March and I CANNOT WAIT! I just want to be warm and have some fun! It's been a tough winter here.

Y'all take care,
Red

HI Red

Good to see you. Sorry to hear about your home computer. Hope you can do something about it and get it running better again or maybe a new one is in order.

Congrats to your DD. How wonderful she has found a good man that not only loves her but her son as well. I wish them all a long happy marriage.

Been a bit chilly here and I too am looking forward to some warmer days and spring training baseball!!

Red,

I had to laugh while reading your post, because I was reading it so fast. When it came to your "HUMMER" I read right past that and when I got to how much FUEL it used, I thought, "Well DUH, of COURSE a Hummer uses a lot of fuel!"

LOL...then I read the rest and realized it was not a vehicle you were talking about..but a HUMMINGBIRD!

We have one species that hangs around here year-round, the Anna's hummingbird. They are fun to watch. I watched one the other day take off from my feeder and just jet diagonally across the street, over a couple houses and out of sight. He must have a route or something. I didn't think they ranged away from their nest that far. I know the fir tree in the neighbors' yard has a nest cuz they go up there a lot after feeding and I always hear their little 'tsk, tsk, tsk' from up there when I step out onto the porch.
