Stop Snowing Sunday!

I can't believe it's snowing again. The gods above were kind enough to give us about 2' of snow this past week. We spent most of yesterday shoveling our 100' deck and sidewalks. We thought we'd start out fresh this morning and rake the roof. Yes, for those of you who do not know of this northern New England sport, it is played only after a very large amount of snow has fallen and you have finally cleaned your deck off. And in turn, this gets you to be lucky enough to shovel the deck off again! I often ask myself what it is I like about this place, mostly in the winter months. What makes me stay? The frogs trilling in the early spring from the pond, the robins sitting in the snow in April chirping to the sun, the deer grazing in the front pasture, an occasional fox loping through and of course my hummingbirds who come to their summer home in May and stay until early September. Yes, that's what keeps me going out and shoveling and raking. So, for all of you poor people who are relaxing this Sunday, you're invited up here for a roof raking party! Shoeless (but my snowshoes are nearby!)

MORNING,BERNIE. I'LL GET THE TRUCK LOADED UP THIS MORNING AND YOU SHOULD HAVE THAT SNOW BY TONITE!
MY SO IS GOING UP ON THE ROOF TODAY TO DO SOME SHOVELING. I HAVE WATER DRIPPING INTO MY COMPUTER ROOM FROM ABOVE THE FRENCH DOORS. I SEE WATER DAMAGE IN MY FUTURE. WE HAD A PRETTY GOOD STORM WEDNESDAY AND THEY SAY A REPEAT IS COMING ON SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY. OH JOY!!CAN'T WAIT. I HAVEN'T EVEN DONE ANY SNOWSHOEING THIS WINTER. EVERY TIME I THINK ABOUT DOING IT, I NEED TO SHOVEL OR RAKE. YOU MUST HAVE GOTTEN SOME WHITE STUFF WEDNESDAY, NO?
WHAT PART OF PA ARE YOU FROM? MY BROTHER LIVES IN CONESTOGA. NICE LITTLE TOWN. OF COURSE, HE'S IN FLORIDA FOR THE WINTER. IT MUST BE NICE BEING RETIRED.I'M HOPING TO MAKE A TRIP DOWN TO VISIT HIM AND CATCH SOME SUN NEXT MONTH. IT'S THE ONLY WAY I'LL MAKE IT THROUGH UNTIL SPRING COMES IN MAY OR JUNE. GROWING SEASON IS GETTING SHORTER AND SHORTER. DO YOU HAVE A GARDEN EVERY YEAR? I ATTEMPT BUT I DON'T HAVE A GREEN THUMB AS MY HUSBAND DID. HE COULD GROW ANYTHING ANYWHERE.
WELL, TIME TO GET READY FOR WORK. IT'S SLIPPER DAY. WE WEAR OUR COMFIES TO WORK. I HAVE BIG BLACK BEAR FEET WITH CLAWS. THE GRANDKIDS LOVE 'EM! HAVE A GOOD DAY AND KEEP YOUR EYE OUT FOR THE SEMI FROM VERMONT! SHOELESS
Will be eagerly awaiting the truckload of snow:) So you have bearclaw slippers too...love the reactions I get when I wear mine outside. I live in Philly and am not quite sure where Connestoga is though I have heard of it.
Yes, I plant a garden each year...love fresh tomatoes. My kids say I can make silk flowers grow:) Each year I think of different color combinations for the yard. Last year it was purple and pink. This year I was thinking rainbows and plan on planting variety packets of asters and zinnias. then again by planting time that could all change.
