As most of you know already from chat, my surgery date for the headache implant procedure has been scheduled for Monday, February 25. This has come after 8 months since I started with the study, only was supposed to be up to 2. I still have my daily headaches and am asking you to pray this gadget works. I am part put under so I feel no pain but I have to be awake so they can test the stimulator as they insert everything. They insert 2 wires starting from my hips to my neck inside the skin making incisions all the way up the middle of my back ending up with a wire at the base of my skull on both sides. When everything is working, they make an incision in my hip, scoop out some fat to make a pocket (I have plenty of that for them to take) and nestle the 2" x 1/8" round stimulator into place and hook the wires up to it. This is all done in same day surgery.
I'm sure I'll be sore so I don't think I will be going to ceramics the next day. I go back to the dr a week later, then a week after that then getting appts further apart all thru the year ahead. If it works, they leave it in, if it doesn't, they take it out. There is always a chance my body rejects it for it isn't natural, but I'm not looking that way right now. I will be put into one of two groups, one where I don't get the juice for the first 3 months, then the rest of the year I do, or the one where I get it from the get-go. You know which group I hope I'm in. I will have a remote to push every time I get a headache. Simple, right?
Tomorrow I go for my annually ear appt AND to get lab work done for the surgery. Oh yes, my surgery is done in the afternoon so I will keep my morning schedule and go for my mammo on the 25th.
I'm just full of good news. I got the results of the bone scan done on my feet. There is definitely inflammation on the side of my left foot which means something tis here. But the clincher was that they found the tops of my feet have something wrong there too. I am going flatfooted, have been for years, and the ligaments are breaking down. This is a whole nother story so it can wait but I do go see that dr in a month. Meanwhile I am still wearing supports in all my shoes, even my slippers. and will for the rest of my life.
On the bright side, we are going to breakfast this morning with friends. I almost forgot about it so was I glad when she called to confirm. We have a lot of fun with this couple so I am looking forward to it. So much bad news in the world today, I feel so blessed for my life. Prayers for all who need them. Love and
