A friend sent this to me and I wanted to pass it on to those who are caring for elderly parents......especially mothers and for those, like me, that seem to have a brother who doesn't lift a finger and yet is held in royal esteem!!

Anyway.....couldn't remember who on the board is in that group....so posted for all!!

Sooze,

I am laughing so hard tears are running. In our house the very fact you were male made you a,"Chosen One".

Thanks for sharing.

well, if I were caring for elderly parents I could relate better...but I know from friends how exasperating and taxing it can be

my mother had the good sense to die at 58 thereby avoiding this situation, my father at 74 after being ill 3 mo

my friend Betty has her 89 yr old mother nextdoor..she is always calling, even if Betty has just been there and left

SO's mother is difficult, even being in thenext state...drives the brother living near her crazy...she is never happy..always complains, never appreciative...and there are no dd's ,only 3 ds's and they all do their part..I think she is a lucky woman considering she made their growing up miserable

glad it could make you laugh

Rain,

I don't remember the male adoration syndrome so much as we were growing up, but now....wow!

Hi, Sooze

I understand...I am just bystander in these cases

I know what Bob goes thru...luckily he and his brother can laugh.

She recently asked Bob if he had seen her new apt (in assisted living) He said "yes , when I helped you move in" LOL

but it is the brother in the same town who bears the brunt..she is still giving him a hard time about cleaning out her fridge in the old place and dumping the stuff..some dated 2006...he said: "so fire me" LOL

You raise a good point: "this is not the woman who raised me"

Mare,

As I discovered with my post several weeks ago, there are several on this board who can relate!
