Remember pedal-pushers?

Please say you do. This a.m. DH and I were talking about some warm weather clothes we need to get for our upcoming mini-vacation. I said something about capris, and he called them clamdiggers. I said, yeah, pedal-pushers.

What?

He'd never heard them called that before. I believe his response was, "Put down the crack pipe and walk away." LOL

Every once in a while I'll come up with a saying or a word he's never heard of and he thinks I'm making it up, so tell me, did you used to call capris "pedal pushers?"

not only do I remember pedal pushers...1950's...I remember a traumatic experience wearing them:

I must have been about 8..we had gone to visit my uncle on a Sat.and unexpectedly stayed overnight...we brought no change of clothes..I had to go to church there on Sun in PEDAL PUSHERS!! OH NO!

I thought I would be struck by lightning! LOL. Back then it was only skirts or dresses to church !

I never heard capris until much later

Oh, NO! Pedal pushers in church in the 50's!?!?!?! The humiliation!

LOL, I can relate...I think we've all endured a similar humiliation at some point in our childhood.

I remember my Dad forcing me to ride on his schoolbus route after all my chicken pox marks had scabbed over. He was tired of me moping around the house! I cried and begged him not to make me go, but there was no winning. I recall pressing my face to a window the entire ride. I think I was 11.
