Dgs #2 may have asthma
| Sun, 03-02-2008 - 5:18pm |
Dd called today seem Jacob is congested again so she took him to the Dr on Friday. The Dr says he has a cold but he also think maybe he has asthma. He gave Dd and inhaler to use at night and will see him next Thurday to run some more test. I had noticed that Jacob often sounds congested and I was afraid he might either have asthma or some allregies. I have asthma but for me the allergy is the worst part.
So guess we will know more next week.
Hope everyone is having a good Sunday. Windy here today and a bit cooler but temps in the 70's so one cannot complain to much.
HUGS to all

I hope he does not have asthma; my brothers
grew up with that and it was hard for my
parents.

Hi Gabby
Dd had to take him to the hospital this afternoon. We just talked to her about 15 minutes ago. Jacob was having trouble breathing and they did admit him after giving him four breathing treatments and finally some steriods he is doing much better. He is sleeping now and Dd will of course spend the night. Hopefully tomorrow they will have a better idea what is going on with him.

DD had to take Jacob to the emergency room this afternoon and they did admit him to the hospital. He is doing much better and finally sleeping after four breathing treatments and giving him so steroids. They say it is either allergies, or asthma at this point they are not sure. Will see how he is in the morning. Just talked to Dd sand she says he is sleeping now.

Hi Dutch
I hope he doesn't as well. However as you said it does seem to run in the family. Being an adopted child with no medical background sometimes makes it scary when you have children and grandchildren and no knowledge what kind of medical problems might be lurking.
Mare hope that
Hi Lor
Well will just have to see I guess. Something is definately going on with him.
Love ya
you raise a good point about knowing your medical history and your families!
however, that said, some people know it and ignore it: case in point: ds smokes
his grandfather had 2 heart attacks in his 40's related to smoking and his grandmother died @ 58 of lung cancer
ds is 30...I would say cause for concern
oh well

HI Dutch
I agree that some people do know the medical history in their families and ignore it. How ever when you don't have on you begin to realize just how important a roll it can play in the lives of those you love.
Quitting smoking is a very hard thing to do and unless you really want to quit it just won't happen.
