On Monday I went to the doctor because I was feeling pain/heaviness/etc. in the chest area. My doctor is out for a couple of weeks and I saw one of the other doctors in the clinic. They did blood tests, and an EKG. Because of my past history of blood clots they also did a chest x-ray and a CAT scan of the lungs. They were afraid of clots in the lungs. Thankfully, everything checked out ok and the doctor said that it probably was a muscle strain caused by all the snow shoveling and ice chipping that I've been doing. The doctor was very nice and I was very happy with him.
Last night the doc called me at home. It seems that when the radiologist checked over the x-rays, he found a little spot/nodule in the lung. He said that it is very small and that I shouldn't worry about it (yah right!) and that I should have follow-up x-rays in six months. Needless to say, my mind is going crazy at this point just imagining what it could be. The doc said that if I prefer, he will arrange for me to see a specialist but that he didn't think it was necessary at this point. Bottom line though, is that it's up to me.
I talked to dd#1 and decided to wait until after my vacation (about a month) and then go see my regular doctor because I am due for a physical anyway. I will then talk to him about it. Meanwhile, I wonder how to keep from worrying about it.
Prayers would be appreciated.

HI Kaci
Well that would certainly scare a person. I don't blame you for being worried about it.
I am glad that this was just muscle strain Kaci!
Kaci, I know it is so hard to not worry...and I speak from total experience as I am the world's worst worrier.
