...just not in person that often.
I saw Mare's post (I should go back and read Rain's...sounds like that started it) and feel like I should take more time to share. As with others, though, I'm not sure I have much to say that is all that interesting. A lot of my time is taken up with my regular job and two other occasional jobs. The regular one pays the bills; one of the others is going toward my Visa; the other one is my "extra" money. Unfortunately, I don't do that one that often. I'm determined to get bills paid though. This last year has been a rough one between the money I've put inot this house and way more medical bills than I've ever had before. No more of that! I'm back to an apple a day and an aspiring when something hurts!
The rest of my time seems to go into this house...either tearing it up, fixing it up or cleaning it up. I got the guest room finished, complete with a brightly colored bedspread (and matching curtains). Now I just need to have people come visit. Ahem! I've been working on the front porch. I'm disappointed in it in a way. I wanted it to be way more glass than wood so that it would be full of light. But, by the time all the building codes were met, it ended up being more of a room with big windows, not nearly as light as I'd hoped it would be. It will be a nice room, though, and I'm sure I'll like it when it's all done. I'm almost finished shingling the outside and when that's done, I can have the final inspection. Then I can start working on the inside which will be a lot more fun.
My son is getting ready to take a 5-week trip all around China. It's going to be a fantastic trip and I will spend the whole time both envying him and worrying about him. He and Shirley are planning to FINALLY get married when he gets back. There have been a lot of roadblocks for them, but I think it's going to work out this time. They are expecting a baby the end of June and we are hoping to go over for a visit the end of July to see them and the baby. Then, they are hoping to come here as soon as Shirley can get a visa...not always easy there. We'll see what happens.
To end on a light note...one of the doctors in our clinic was kind of upset about an old car that had been parked in the parking lot for several days. So, this morning, he had it towed away. Turns out, it belonged to one of the other doctors! He'd driven it to work one day, then found that he couldn't start it again...the key just turned around and around in the ignition. So he's been waiting for the lock guy to come fix it so he could get it home. This definitely calls for more than a mention at the next Christmas party. I think it deserves a skit.
Have a good week.

Hello, Kat, so good to 'see' you....Love reading your posts...I am always so in awe of your projects!
Hi Kat
Funny how we all feel we have nothing much to say that would interest others here on the board.
I am glad to hear you got that guest room done I bet it looks really nice. Medical bills can be the pits and sometimes it seems things just pile up and you do nothing but see a Dr for something.
Congrats to your son!! How exciting for them both.
Well as you said maybe you will like the porch better once you can begin to work on the inside of it. Darn those codes anyway!!
Well seems as if someone should have ask around more before having the car towed huh?? LOL
Good to see you Kat.
Love ya
