Dessert Flowers??

Yesterday before chat time my dh ask me if I wanted to go out to the desert and take his ATV, have a picnic for lunch and take some pictures of the pretty spring desert wild flowers. I said sure sounds like fun. While I was at chat he got everything ready except for our lunch which we stopped by the local deli for sandwiches. We had some apples and plenty of water so off we went.  It is probably only about three miles to the desert from our house. We parked the truck got the ATV off the trailer and off we went to find a nice spot for the picnic. When we found a spot we liked there were lots of Mexican poppies and a flurry of color in blue, lavender, pink. The poppies are bright yellow with a dark orange in the center. Ok dug in the bag and no camera. We had left it at home on the counter!!! Darn!! We did have a good time though and spent about four hours out there enjoying the very pretty day with temps in the low 80's. Since it was a weekday we had the area mostly to ourselves with an occasional lizard running by. We did see a guy on a bike and another jeep parked up near the mountain where someone was probably on a hike. Sure wish we had remembered the camera. Dh will go back on on Monday as he always does and I am going to make sure he takes the camera with him so he can get some pictures of the flowers so I can share them with you all here.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!!

HI Doreen

Well I am hoping Dh is going out tomorrow and will take some pictures. Might depend on the weather which has been a bit windy lately and much cooler. However he will go out either tomorrow or the next day and promises to take lots of pictures.

The main thing is that you had a wonderful day and enjoyed the Spring flowers.... the pictures will come later, at least you got to see them.
