Sunday ramblings...

As I put the corned beef into the crockpot, I looked out the window....it was snowing!!

all the places that were bare yesterday now have snow again....the rains this week really melted a lot of the snow..but there is still a lot covering the ground

oh, well, one day it will melt..for now the white snow covers the brown dirt , we have no lawn at all....nothing...I realized yesterday when it was cloudy and in the 30's we considered that a beautiful day! LOL

come spring we will need topsoil..then grass seed...then plants and bushes..all new

dd is coming for corned beef and cabbage dinner tonight

today I sorted papers to be copied for my next course..starts Apr 2

yesterday we hit the Racino (casino at racetrack) for their 99 cent breakfast for 55+...

I wore my Irish charms, harp and claddagh, and played a leprechaun slot machine..well, the luck of the Irish finally won! $58 on one play! $20 earnings on others...came home almost $80 richer!! I was really stunned by that one win!

and I am not a gambler, nor do I usually rely on magic charms..LOL...but I mean, really...St Paddy's day and all?? how could I not??

we have been reeling here in NY from the stunning stupidity of our governor! One expects a bit more especially from one who made himself out to be a moral/ethical crusader..oh, well.... he was pretty unmerciful when he prosecuted and he did not "play well with others" in the state govt....his successor seems like a much better deal!

does any one else have this vague sense of unease? is it the economy? the war? or is it just me? has winter just been too long here? I feel "at loose ends"

I hope this finds the rest of you well and enjoying yourselves

hugs

Unease? Commentators are saying that our economy probably hasn't been this shakey since the 30s? What me worry? Dub worked as hard as he could to bankrupt Texas, what did y'all think he'd do to the rest of the country if he had a chance?

But today we're pretty content since I brought dh home from the hospital and he decided not to belly ache after he looked up pulmonary embolisms

Sure hope that snow will not stick around long. The first day of spring is just a few days away!!

Sorry you are feeling at loose ends. Hate it when I feel that way. However I am at least for now am not feeling that way.

well..you are right....shrinking nest eggs too..

but I am signing on to your plan: just not going to think about it!!

as for Bill Clinton vs Spitzer: I thought Bill's trangression was bad until this guy...BIll had , shall we say "volunteers",..Spitzer had a prostitution ring, brought a 22 yr old prostitute over state lines..AND had prosecuted prostitution rings ferociously..it went beyond hypocritical!

arrogance...hubris...entitlement...ego...all of the above

Bill was also the President of The United States...and diddling in his office/home....and then lying about it...What a sleaze...The other one is no better!

I will look for your good news
